nsareen Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 ooooh Man .......is this the fastest 3 combination in the world........ 2 guys with 150+ speeds- siddle and Pattinson and one at 145+....dangerous. umesh and ishant are kinda 145+ ( exception 1 or 2 balls at 150) and ZAK is 136+.........though INdia's attack is also NIPPy but Australian is dreadful Well pattinson, siddle cummins have been in india, all three can cross 150+. they are a fearful attack no doubt, but same can be said for steyn, morkel,de lange now also all three can cross 147 -150 easily, even finn broad, meaker can be classified in the 145+ category and also fiedel, rampaul, roach.
express bowling Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 A lot of people are suggesting that Ishant should pitch the ball up further. This recipe is absolutely essential for shorter bowlers and swing bowlers but really tall pacers who depend on seaming the ball and getting steep bounce have often succeeded and have been the absolute best by bowling the three quarter length e.g McGrath, Walsh, Ambrose, Garner etc. When six and a half feet bowler is always pitching the ball up he loses his most natural weapon --- steep bounce -- which is often the most potent weapon if the pacer gets his line right. Ishant often bowls a horrible line and either bowls too wide or at the batsman's pads. That is why he is not getting wickers regularly. We should remember that Ishant is not a swing bowler and not all bowlers should become swing bowlers. Seam bowling is also a very potent weapon.
express bowling Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 This looks like a list of inningswise fastest bowlers by delivery speed. That is why we see Ishant and Siddle twice. This is not a list of the all the fastest deliveries bowled in the MCG test.

express bowling Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 This is of the whole match. This was taken on last day For the whole match surely but showing the fastest balls of each innings for each pacer bowling at almost 150 k or more. That is why it does not show the 4 or so 150 k + deliveries bowled by Ishant in the first innings.
BestVRest Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 To all the Indians is your local TV showing the match in HD? Because over here in Australia Channel 9 said they are broadcasting into India in full High Def.

express bowling Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Good news, if I may call it one given the state of the match; Star is atlast showing speeds The speeds I have seen till the 2nd day of the 2nd test ( I have watched only about a third of Indian bowling ) Ishant fastest 149 k + , generally 138 k to 145 k Umesh fastest 145 k +, generally 140 k to 145 k , lots of 143 k deliveries.
Ultimate_Game Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 What's the phucking point of bowling fast when you can't bowl consistent line and length? Bowling fast and spraying it all over gets you in the same class as Mohammed Sami and right now our bowlers are an insult even to Sami. I would rather have 120-130 kph trundlers like PK and Pathan who can at least bowl straight.

The bowling coach should work with the pacers much harder both in terms of planning and practicing hard. If he can't then we should get a new bowling coach as well as fresh talent in terms of pacers. We should not sttle for just pace without accuracy or just accuracy. The bar has to be raised in Indian test bowling without compromise.
Sid Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Mithun is touching 150 in the nets. :hysterical::hysterical:

Ultimate_Game Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 This fascination with speeds is making us look like Pak fans who used to rejoice at Sami's speed even though most of his thunderbolts used to disappear to the boundary :haha:

Why can't you want a bowler with all the attributes ? Why does it have to be either accuracy or pace ? The Aussies are showing and many attacks have shown that both are possible.
