He is just going through a bad period of time, and that period has been pretty long, nearly an year now. He did decently well in South Africa just before the World Cup. Even in the English tour, after Dravid and Sachin, he was our 3rd best batsman.

This. When he looks to get in, he gets out. But the way he got out in the first innings will always be his demise early on. The moment the ball was bowled out there, I knew it was all over. He needs to leave anything outside off early on. Make them bowl on the pads and work them away. Only hope he has

Dhoni needs to play some ranji games and get runs there... if he is unable to do that it would mean its not the technique but the temperament... but if he does score some runs in ranji games then its over for him in tests...
