Welcome back any out of form once great batman that gets the honor of facing India. Thank god we dont have to play tests with the Padosis or Afridi would be hitting back to back double centuries.

Time to kick out Dhoni from Test captaincy the only reason why dhoni is still the captain is due to ccommercial reasons and not cricketing reasons the pitch was expected to support pacers & get better for batting on the 2nd & 3rd day & still dhoni took to bat. anyone with even 1% of cricketing knowledge would have chosen to bowl on that pitch. also the fact that we have been excellent while chasing in tests in the last 3-4 years(except the last test) should have helped it too. we have made lots of 200+ chases since 2008. had we bowled 1st, aussies would have been dismissed <200 & we would have easily made about 350-400 and won the match comfortably but dhoni(whos the worst test match captain ever), chose to bat & hit a huge axe on the indian teams feet

He is the best bastman/wicket keeper in India so his place his safe. What other alternatives do we have, Ghambir was the most likely but with his form its the last thing he needs. There is no other player who could be captain long term, Sehwag is even worse. This loss is not only Dhoni's fault, he cant control how Laxman/Sehwag/Ghambhir/Ishant play.

Anyone who thinks we should have bowled first on this wicket doesnt even have an iota of cricketing knowledge.Due u think Dhoni alone decided to bat first ? It was will always be team decision to bat or bowl first in every test. That was 500+ batting first wicket.Look at the scored we scored last 2 times we played in Sydney. But as usual our batting greats folded pathetically. If we had decided to bowl first then Aus would have scored 500+ in first innings and we we would have lost by an innings.Just like as it is happening now anyway.

Batting 1st was the correct decision. Dhoni has made lot of poor moves but he doesn't deserve to be blamed for batting 1st. This was a batting pitch and our batsmen phucked up and it's not Dhoni's fault the batsmen couldn't bat out the 1st session.

totally agree after 2 successive whitewashes in both england and australia, dhobi's time as captain is done. it was a similar situation with tendulkar who was replaced as captain after similiar whitewashes of 3-0 and 2-0 by aus and sa in 1999, so the same parameter needs to be used for MSD and he needs to be kicked out as captain.

Completely agree. Batting first was a no brainer on this wicket. You expect top class top three to see off the new ball on this wicket. Indian batting last night was ordinary. You needed to be 75/2 max at lunch middle order would have cashed in later. Problem is once you are 80/5 you are unable take advantage to easier conditions. India need to rethink their plan here and put in a grafter like Cowan. Akash chopra and Jaffar did it in the past. Is there anyone capable of getting 40 of 120 upfront in this squad?
