debachat Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Tendulkar is one of the most committed players in the team. It would be a folly to single him out and drop him right now when other players like Laxman and Dravid should go first. It does not make sense to phase out all seniors at the same time. If Tendu is the andhon mein kana raja, then we should certainly get rid of other blind folks first... coz SRT will still make runs even with one eye closed. This is what Kirsten said recently about Tendulkar: "People only talk about his genius," Kirsten said. "They don't get to see the backroom. I do. And I only see intense preparations, hours and hours of practice, sweat, hard work, leaving nothing, absolutely nothing to chance." Cherry picking the man because he's not able to get his 100th 100 right now, will not undermine his level of commitment to the game. Its not about 100th 100. Its about asking the question can he still deliver when the chips are down. In the 90s, he often carried the team on his solo shoulders when either guys like Azhar were throwing games away or when the likes of incompetents like Harvinder Singh and Mohanty threw pies (original pies) to the opposition. But the question one needs to ask - can he do it now. Havent seen the fight in the last two series against arguably the two best bowling attacks under not so friendly conditions. It wouldn't matter if he does it on Indian tracks against any opposition.

I dont get rated for my performance for the work I did last year or the year before that. And I am sure neither are you. Memory is short. No one cares about Tendulkar's failure during his tennis elbow days and neither would I remember his innings three series before. I care that he couldn't play his part in keeping our #1 ranking. I care that the world cup win turned sour so quickly and our seniors didn't put up their hands.
FreakazoiD Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 He should retire on 99*, as it is its a meaningless record anyway. The man-child has gotten carried away by the media and created pressure to achieve a fraud record...
chainsmoker1985 Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 playing outside off stump major weakness of all indian players and we were blaming kohli who played so well outside of stump in last game! Yes, and this weakness has been fully exploited by opposition teams this year. Even West Indies exploited this weakness of Sachin and didn't let him make a single century in 3 tests

chainsmoker1985 Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 Is Sachin Tendulkar Mentally Weak? Many critics have been blaming Sachin of- failing when India needs him most.... I won't say much about that. But, here his continuous failure to reach his 100th ton milestone for the last 1 year when whole media attention was on him and that too when he looks in good touch every second innings, tells you something about his mental toughness or mental weakness. Not to forget, his continuous failure to reach this milestone has affected India's performance as well
ravishingravi Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Well in India this is generally the only way you can go out. I can't think of many instances of people retiring gracefully. They want to be the bell of ball all the time. We might just have to arrange a tri series with Zimbabwe, get Sachin his 100 and put us all out of this misery.

You guys are worse than vultures who hover over people past their primes, looking for a weakness you can exploit. And its evident, you now cannot hide your glee that the three gods have finally, feets if clay. Can you tell me, after the series began, was one single thread started by a sachin fan saying the ton mattered? If not, whats the point if this thread. Bloody attention seekers. No, sachin just can't lose his form like laxman or dravid. Someone who played with a broken nose against waqar at seventeen is mentally fragile because chainsmoker wants some attention. At least media people are payed for being vultures and hounding their own, what's your excuse? There is a difference between criticism and plain venting if years of hatred. More than sachin, the names laxman and dravid have been called are deplorable.

If a batsman can't score a 100 in a year over 11 tests when he has actually looked in good touch will get people talking. It's not just the fans even commies and analysts have called it out. 2. It's fans like chainsmoker1985 and others like him (or like ICFers) who have made Tendulkar and other what he is today. If they can lap our adulation, honor, lve and affection the fans have showered on Tendulkar and company, they should be open for some criticism as well, which by the way is very richly deserved. It's fans like us who follow the team and players across the globe and make the Indian team the most followed and popular cricket team in the world. 3. It's a fair enough criticism that Sachin hasn't performed under pressure. Gambhir won us the T20 and WC finals, Dhoni showed up in the WC final and Yuvraj was one of the stars in both the T20 Cup and the WC. Sachin's best knocks have generally come in defeat and when the going gets tough Tendulkar definitely can't be counted on. Even in Tests Laxman and Dravid has outperformed Sachin at the crunch.

The Dark Horse Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Frankly i dont think anyone cares anymore.
cybervickey Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 You guys are such haters .I don't give a damn if we lost 2 series. It's not like we never won a series.I'd take Sachin's 100 over a win here .A win here is meaningless anyway.Don't let posters from padosis fool you .They are very much jealous of tendulkar and call him names like Tenda. We need to back our own.Tendulkar will come good, he always has. There is only one tendulkar , give him the respect he deserves. Who else do you know in world cricket that CAME even close to a 100 hundred's. Its probably just the pressure of the century thatS messing with his game otherwise he looked in awesome touch.Middling the ball and all. ****** AGAIN DON'T BE FOOLED ,THE COMMENTATORS AND PADOSIS LOVE IT WHEN TEAM INDIA FAILS,DON'T GIVE THEM THE SATISFACTION OF TURNING AGAINST YOUR OWN, WE ARE BETTER THAN THAT *****
Ultimate_Game Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I guess the WC matches against Padosees where all phixed .... and then people like you wonder why they get harassed ... have some shame ... just because you have a keyboard hooked upto the RJ45 jack doesnt mean that you have to keep banging on it ... Whatever you or anyone says when it's crunch time I would rather have other batsmen in the middle. In odis I would prefer to have Dhoni or Yuvraj at the death, and in Tests it was Laxman or Dravid who used to see us home. Yes, SRT has done well against Pakis, particularly the knock in 2003, but overall cometh the hour, goeth Tendulkar.

cybervickey Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Nothing much to say when people would rather take a SRT 100 over an India win I will take his 100 over a win "here" .This particular game is meaningless now.

Ultimate_Game Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 lol ... ya I know ... tum mootugey and its supposed to be mastabhishek ... Had not SRT cometh the WC would have goeth to La'whor .... perhaps thats why you are whineging non-stop I guess :hahaha: I have enough faith in Pakis performances that even if SRT had gotten out earlier and India managed a score of 220-230, Pakis still wouldn't have felt short like they always do. They couldn't chase 215 in 92 and 220 odd in 99, and the way they were going 220-230 would have been to big for them as well.
