IMO Kohli should have things differently and followed a more politically correct approach - he should have come up to the umpires and complained about crowd abusing him racially and then watched the fun unfold with Aussie commies and ex-players trying to defend the crowd behavior. With the finger gesture kohli has put himself under pressure rather than forcing Aussies to get a handle on their crowd behavior.

Same thing happens in various fields of day-to-day life. Good for him, that he is getting so much respect from the crowd and opposition these days. But, things were different when he toured Australia in earlier stages of his career, when he was not about to retire. I think you have forgotten even he had to face rude behaviour of the opposition, crowds and umpires as well, that too on several occasions. Lol, I have nothing against Sachin but poor man, never won a single series in Australia in his playing period of 22 years. And this is now going to remain like this forever for him. Remember, in last series in Australia, Anil Kumble said next time India will be touring Australia, we will surely win the series coz Sachin and other senior members will be there to guide the youngsters with their experience. Seems like he is not transferring his experience to the next generations that well.

I watched the last 2 series' and the reception was the same and at that time he wasn't at the "last stages" of his career. As for the team not winning - a team can win a Test series in Australia if all the players of the team contribute but we've not had that ergo we've not won.
