India got there in style too, with Azhar schooling some crappy Pakistani bowler named Ata-ur-Rehman. Sidhu figured out Saqlain and hit him for some big sixes, and Tendulkar was usual self - scoring his 4th hundred in 12 innings. Ram Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Wow ! The flashing blade of Azhar in the last over seems almost surreal. He just massacred Ata-Ur-Rehman ! Our ODI team in 1996 was quite strong. Sachin , Azhar, Manjrekar , Sidhu , Jadeja , Kumble , Srinath all were at their best during this time.

Azharuddin was going through a terrible slump prior to this match and according to dressing room rumors Tendulkar literally pushed him out of the dressing room to face the final couple of overs when Azhar was reluctant to do so. The 299 vs. SL was made in a 40 over match and SL came very close to chasing it down. Kapil bowled a superb last over after being hit around for plenty earlier on. Interestingly, Azharuddin scored a century in the SL match, 108 and his first three ODI centuries were 108!
