I know it sounds harsh, but the reality is there for all to see, we need to find a way to give opportunity to the people who need it the most. I am not just talking cricket, I am talking about everyday life, it hurts to see how these so called Indian stars are representing their nation, they don;t care because the IPL starts soon and they will earn their millions, why should they care?

I agree sabby, it just hurts, India can be a great nation, but unfortunately when the person in the street is willing to pay a bribe, there is not much hope the people in power will change their ways either.

Why is you Indian fans looking for excuses for Insia poor test form ' date=' there is one reason for this , India is the new CHOKERS in test cricket[/quote'] No we suck, plain and simple. The only CHOKERS are SA who choke in WCs and Durban.

Seriously :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: The amount of excuses some come here up with to cover the failures of our seniors like Sachin Dravid Laxman and Sehwag :hysterical: And now putting down youngsters who arent even given a chance so that to feel good about the failures of our senior batsman. Hero worshiping at its best.
look how kohli and yadav are performing given the chances. give youngsters a chance. even if they fail they'll get valuable experience.

Don't really see much hope, at least we need to start by making competitive pitches, I don't mind loosing series at home, as long as the young kids improve their technique against pace and swing. Sometimes to become a great nation, you have to take a few steps back and start on the road again, we can't keep going the way we have been, a lot needs to chane, but I don;t see it changing.

honestly making green pitches isnt a solution make occasional green ones..but dont lose ur strength too remeb these guys who are stuggling now played really well until now even outside sub continent now kohli is improving..i think pujara, rohit, rahane would do well even on these tracks we jsut need to get rid of players who are almost touching 40's!!

Yeah good point sabby, every state needs to make different pitches, where the young kids will be tested but will also help us find some good young quick bowlers. Making good pitches will encourage the kids who want to bowl fast as well, look at Australia they have about 8 young quick's who can walk into the Aussie line up.

yep but i think we are taking step in right direction there is aaron.. dinda taking **** load of wickets in ranji..(he is no tundler) jsut follow rkt's post there are fast bowlers or bowlers with good skills they are jsut ignore cos they dont have stats of vinay in india tundlers rule.. yadav, aaron both were picked on potential not performance.. i think in fast bowling this should be the criteria..

We really need to encourage young kids to take up quick bowling, we need state of the art facilities, mental conditioning as well. That is why the Aussies excel at all sport they compete in, for a country with the population the size of Mumbai they have great sports people in almost every sport. The reason is the Aussies know how to encourage the kids, they kids here even if they come from low income/poor family's still get a lot of help and a lot of it is for free as well. But that will never happen in India too much greed and corruption, if you have money in India you child will get the best, as long as you bribe the right people or have the right connections.

In spite of all our problems, overall we're still pretty good at Cricket. Our team has achieved a lot more than teams like England and South Africa, we're second to only Australia in ICC trophy wins and overall we've always been one of the top tier teams. No team other than Australia or the West Indies has dominated Cricket anyway. I agree we should be doing a lot better with a population of 1.2 billion though. In addition to corruption, I think it's also a cultural thing. We give more importance to individuals than others and worship them as gods, anyone who criticizes them is considered an India basher. Once we achieve something significant like a world cup win we lose the hunger to keep reaching new heights and instead satisfied with what we've achieved. Teams like Australia often try to win every match they play and you hear their captains boldly saying they're looking to win 4-0 and so on. You're never going to hear an Indian captain saying that, the best you'll hear is the standard "we're taking one match at a time". As an agnostic atheist, I also believe we're way too religious as a society, many of our players think the reason we won the world cup is because some higher power wanted us to do so rather than attributing it to their own hard work. When India becomes a more rational society everything else will fall in place in my opinion.

If you are the BCCI president what 3 things you would change ? 1 would decrease number of games of ipl 2 would make most bouncy pitches in india 3 would make regular drs system for all matches

and kick out dhoni, ishant and sehwag from test team , give cutoff date for sachin to retire and make sure dravid and laxman play no more tests for team india after adelaide

If I became the BCCI president I would : 1) Hire foreign cricket administrators instead of foreign coaches and try to analyze what is wrong with our domestic cricket and attempt to improve it. 2) Try to prepare more bouncy pitches and build bigger stadiums and use them in domestic as well as international matches so our players will learn how to play in similar conditions abroad. 3) Forbid national team players from participating in IPL/CL. Overall I would try to improve the standard of our Cricket rather than make more money.
