This current Indian team is finished. I'm surprised we beat Windies. They really should have won at least a test, but I guess it shows how shite they are also. If the current eleven face England in Nov, Eng will win easily. Even if DLT are gone they will still probably win as we will be filled with lot of rookies and Eng are now a well oiled, polished, experienced test team. Also all the recent gloating from the Pom Paks Ozys is a bit hollow IMO. If they had destroyed us as they are doing now while Lax, Dravid, Tendu, Gangu were in their late 20s, early 30s then yes it would be a great achievement. As it is, it's like a 25 year old Mike Tyson knocking out a 38 year old Evander Holyfield in the first round and dancing like a lunatic because he think he has achieved something truly great, when really he has just put the final nail in the coffin of a deluded old man who still thought he could compete.
Not our fault your BCCI does not have the balls to retire them We can only play who turns up

A few months before the England whitewash, Certain sections of your media were comparing this Indian team to Aus teams between 99-07.:hysterical:

it was a great team whether you like it or not. england hadn't beaten us for 26 years before last summer and we always gave aus a good battle since 2001 till 2010. but all good things come to an end and we are now stuck with a washed up old team with all confidence destroyed.

Between 2007 to early 2011 you had a good team. They weren't a great team. The only series of any significance you won away from home was England, and that only by 1-0 and the weather saving you in the first test. You won a world cup and 20/20, so yeah you've had some decent success but aren't comparable to past windies or Australian teams. You've never dominated test teams like those side did. Even at home you haven't.

Seamer friendly? Every bloody pitch in England is 'seamer friendly' like every pitch in India is spin friendly But there is the rub, we could make ours rank uncovered green tops which would equal the % of tampering that you do to produce rank turners, but we dont. We produce a fair wicket that is not 'doctored' to our benefit, just reflective of our country. You take a pitch that is reflective and then make it as bad as possible
Please give me some examples of these rank turners. I want to see if you can back up your claims with evidence or whether you are just spouting rubbish to downplay India's strong home record. If team's want to win in India, they have to play spin better and their quick bowler's have to find a way of getting Indian batsman out (like Zaheer and Ishant {barring recent Windies series} have done recently. Your claims about India doctoring pitches so that they become 'rank turners' are hollow. I accept that there have been occasions where India have provided the odd pitch that spins too much but there have been occasions in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and England where there has been too much grass left on the pitch.

take off your india hate goggles and its clear for the whole world to see - 1. lloyds west indies 2. waughs australia 3. gangulys india
Sorry thats just nonsense. That team under Ganguly doesnt deserved to be named anywhere near the Aus or WI.We didnt win a single series outside sub continent during that period under Ganguly so how u seriously term them great. That team under Ganguly was great by Indian standards because of our past overseas performances and how much we improved under ganguly but terming that team alongside WI and Aus is nonsense

First of all I don't hate India so stop being precious. Those two teams are out on there own. No other teams come close in terms of dominance Imran Khans Pakistan shits all over Ganguly's Indian team. Even Michael Vaughn's England won many more tests then that Indian side. And did better away from home.

west indies and australia have been the 2 true great teams in the history of the game. the rest have been good to average. we are defiantly the best of the rest of the bunch. this current england team may eclipse us if they can have a successful 2012/2013 but right now england have a very mediocre history and record in the game. shameful even, for the inventors and founders.

Really? I don't think that Indian team was better then the saffa side of the late 90's in tests or the England team between 03-05. You say we've got a mediocre history. You do realise that India has a worse win/loss ratio in tests then Sri Lanka? Pretty shameful when you consider they only started playing tests 30 years ago.

yes we are so shite it took england 22 years to register a series victory against india home or away, and that too when our best players were past their best. england have been the biggest bunnies for tendulkar, dravid, kumble etc for the best part of their careers and didn't come anywhere near defeating these guys in their pomp.

It took 15 years not 22. Secondly, nobody has owned Tendulker as badly as Jimmy Anderson.

Imran's Khan Pakistan won one series out of SC. This current Indian team has four. Also Vaughn's England lost many more tests than the Indian side coz they play a lot of tests. Ashes 2001. Ashes 2002-03. Ashes 2006-07 etc etc come to mind.

Everyone has a bunny. But the thing is in the past 15 years you lost three series against India and now you have managed to win one.
