10 July, 2011. India vs West Indies Test at Dominica. India needed 180 runs off 48 overs to win the last test. An opportunity for an exciting contest on the last day of a test match. Where many experts and fans believed that Indian batting can easily reach the target and a definite victory was looking in sight. A chance to win a series in WI 2-0(obviously so much better than 1-0) when in the past, India had always toiled hard on WI soil against great WI legends. But, we never showed the intent to win the game from the first ball itself. So, we ended up with 94/3 in 32 overs and still only 86 runs more required from 16 overs with players like VVS, Rahul, Virat, Dhoni, Harbhajan and PK yet to come. and the game was called off only on Dhoni's demand. And obviously, opposition captain, Darren Sammy was laughing inside and outside as well. Thats shows you the mentality of the captain MSD, how defensive he is in his approach and how he denied India of a definite possibility of a win in a test match on foreign soil. Now, when I see India struggling on foreign soil, in England and in Australia, forget about a win, we are losing continuously and losing miserably, I get a feeling that Victory will be laughing somewhere seeing India losing match after match. And These are not mere losses, this is serious embarrassment of a team which was No.1 not long ago. This tells you the importance of each and every single victory for your country on foreign soil. Just hope that we learn from our mistakes someday in future. Another 4-0 on the cards now!!!!

^ yes' date=' I agree, but what about Darren Sammy as a captain?????[/quote'] we have a larger fan base than windies and we deserve better.. and to add that we have keepers with better batting technique

^ agree, but what is your take on whether we should continue with Dhoni as captain? Or you people feel he is just doing a fine job and blame has to go on whole team and his captaincy was fine. Other thought process can be, either ask Dhoni to bring a lil bit of change in his style of captaincy coz this kind of defensive captaincy will not get us anywhere. He also don't have guts to go against either of the BIG 3 even if they are failing. And after every defeat we gets to hear the same tape recording from his mouth.

Was so disgusted watching the end of that test match, hated that whole series, felt sorry for the WI and their fans that the touring team didn't give a toss at all.

Now he has been banned from the next test at Adelaide. Isn't the destiny playing its part? He actually deserves it in someway. Now we will get to see a new captain at Adelaide and if India performs better there, might be an end of road for him, test captaincy

MSD banned from Adelaide test

MS Dhoni, India's captain, has been banned for the Adelaide Test after India were found to be two overs short of the required over-rate in Perth. In Dhoni's absence, Virender Sehwag will captain the side in Adelaide. Wriddhiman Saha, who debuted in Nagpur as a specialist batsman in unusual circumstances against South Africa in 2009-10, is the reserve wicketkeeper on tour.

And you expect from No.1 team, to keep the test cricket alive by playing exciting cricket just like Steve Waugh used to do
