NeutralCat Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 The Indian Censor Board has reportedly offended The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo director David Fincher so much so that he has refused to release the film in India. The bone of contention is the intimate and graphic scenes in the films. http://www.hindustantimes.com/Entertainment/Hollywood/The-Girl-with-the-Dragon-Tattoo-director-refuses-to-release-it-in-India/Article1-802812.aspx So what do you guys think? India going mad?
IKnowU Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 The Indian Censor Board has reportedly offended The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo director David Fincher so much so that he has refused to release the film in India. India going mad? When I was in India two weeks back, I wanted to watch it and realised that it was released worldwide. Now I know the reason I guess, the sex scenes are a bit graphic I guess. And censoring them would not flow well with the movie. Someone has to make a sacrifice and it seems it wont be the director.
akshayxyz Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 If one has watched the Swedish version, all the scenes are must part of the movie to really feel the characters, esp that of Lisbeth Salander. its not some out of context cheap skin show that Bollywood resorts to.
NeutralCat Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 ^^ Exactly well India is prone to banning things, as has been proved over and over again, I thought India was a democratic nation? Looks like we are headed in another direction.
kabira Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 why don't give movie A rating. they allow vulgur songs, total vulgurity gets away....
ganeshran Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 So what do you guys think? India going mad? lolwat? Cut down on the dumb generalizations. Cutting the scenes was a decision by Censor board in its own capacity
Number Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 ^^ Exactly well India is prone to banning things' date=' as has been proved over and over again, I thought India was a democratic nation? Looks like we are headed in another direction.[/quote'] lol , seriously... stop being worried this much.
EnterTheVoid Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 There are some sex scenes, waa - waa, big deal. What if there are, the movie is for adults wonly. Kids shouldn't be watching this stuff
KhanSaab Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Censor board knows Indian cinemas cant enforce the ratings, so whats the point.
Ram Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 No way this movie is every going to release in India without significant cuts. Its not like the sex/rape scenes are in silhouette or something.. they are pretty graphic/explicit and leaves nothing to the imagination.
bulbul Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 whoever want to see download from torrents and see guys...why worry
chainsmoker1985 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 So what do you guys think? India going mad? Why generalize the whole India? 70% of Indians don't even watch movies and has nothing to do with it. It is just a movie, fail or pass, censor board is responsible for it. India don't have any thing to do with it. Don't relate movies to India
