Akhilesh Yadav most likely to be new UP chief minister

Samajwadi Party's parliamentary board meeting has supported Akhilesh Yadav's name for the next Uttar Pradesh chief minister, sources told Hindustan Times on Wednesday. The official announcement will come after 5 pm, the source added. On his part, the suave, media-savvy, 38 year-old engineer-turned-politician has always maintained that only his father, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, can rightfully claim the chief minister's job. On Tuesday, as the results started flashing on television channels, he reiterated the same stance, although with a tone that was less definitive

Ideally "Netaji" (MSY) should be CM and "BhaiyaJi" (Akhilesh) should be Deputy CM till the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Then depending on the results, if SP joins the Govt either one of them can join the central Govt and the other can be CM or if results are not favorable then Akhilesh can still become the CM in 2014 after having worked under MSY for 2 years.

Actually they've done better than expectations (except UP) - they were expected to lose Punjab but won a resounding victory. They won handsomely in Goa and in Uttrakhand also, BJP was expected to lose but its still in a position to form the Govt. So overall it was a good result apart from UP. Its the Congress which has had the biggest losses everywhere - expected to form Govt in Punjab but lost badly. Lost Goa badly. In Uttrakhand they should've won easily but may or may not from Govt. In UP they have been routed. Overall very bad result for Congress.
