It's denial from top to bottom

How much more can we take? Its denial from everywhere ... R.Shukla: "everybody forgets the series we win and only remember the ones we lose" Ashwin: "we are dissapointed but not embarrassed" Sehwag: "we won 2-0 in India" Kohli/Ishant: "come to India and we'll show you" Sehwag: "no need for anyone to retire" Dravid: "taking it one series at a time" Sehwag: "No technical issues" How much more blind can we be? This is just ridiculous. I get frustrated when Indian fans talk about preparing rank-turners at home. It doesn't mean anything anymore when we're getting humiliated like this abroad. This sums up the culture difference between India and Australia. Australian cricketers are constantly looking to better themselves. The fact is enough is enough. Dravid, Sachin, Laxman, are legends and have all won countless matches for India over the years. But they need to realise at 37,38,39, whether they are in form or not, their best years are behind them and are now not allowing promising young players like Rohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, Manish Pandey, Cheteshwar Pujara, etc. to come in and establish themselves. There's no point waiting till these guys are 30 before they get a chance. Sehwag and Dhoni must go. They don't have the technical ability as Test players abroad, and in Sehwag's case he's not even prepared to fight it out. He's the Mitchell Johnson of Indian batting (Look how well Australia's bowlers are doing without Mitchell Johnson). With a lack of footwork, Sehwag and Dhoni will always be shown up on seaming tracks against quality opposition. There is no denying that. Gambhir needs to be given a run as captain, with Kohli as vice captain, with a new team and new culture going forward. Gambhir, Kohli, Ishant and many Indian fans need to stop worrying about preparing rank turners, and need to start preparing for any pitch. If they work on their technical issues and fix up their own game then the pitch won't matter. However atm, there's no desire to better themselves on any surface, but rather encourage curators to prepare the only surface that suits them. The bitter truth is, Australia have won series' before in India, India haven't won in Australia. And as for the administrators ... this is why I blame the IPL. Not because I think its ruining batsmans techniques. I personally don't think a 6-week T20 competition can ruin batsmen's techniques. The reason I blame the IPL, is that since the IPL began, administrators have done absolutely nothing at all to improve the standard of 4-day cricket in India. They've expanded the IPL and formed a meaningless Champions League but nothing has been done to revive the 4-day game in India or attempt to produce quality Test cricketers. More than a series victory in ODIs, I'm praying for the denial to stop. The denial everywhere is killing Indian cricket.

Yes we were terrible and someone needs to kick the old feckers out. But on the other hand Im sure we ll beat Aus and Eng at home. In their domestic cricket they face useless spinners, their batsmen will be no good on our rank turners. Atleast many of our spinners have doosras, they will be too good for these teams on rank turners. Btw who the hell is R. Shukla lol

And what does that prove?
Everybody is better at home and play to their strengths. Saying that, I get your point. I am upset with the results, but the comments and statements by players show a little ignorance and makes me beyond upset.

Exactly the point made by everyone else... wins in India now mean less than nothing... until India win away, there is no credibility in meaningless one sided home wins. The change is one more than get rid of the old guys, that fixes nothing, nor does the normal get rid of the coach and change the captain that will happen again, it does every time.... A full wide reaching revew with a plan to develop is what is needed.. does BCCI etc have the balls to prompt such a review - we all know the answer

It's just the age. Our Fab 3 performed everywhere when they were young. New players will do the job overseas but they need chances to settle into Test Cricket.

Agree. Sehwag just doesn't deserve a place in XI. Making him captain is another mistake. Gambhir should be the captain with new guys coming in for Dhoni+sehwag+ seniors .

The problem is not just with the Big 3. Tell me one reason why you think India will continue to produce quality Test cricketers consistently in the next 10 years. Forget the current crop, tell me why our system will produce good Test cricketers even after that? * Are 4-day cricketers paid much? Nope * Is there a high-quality domestic comp? Nope * Do we have a variety of pitches? Nope * Do we have away tours for India A? Nope There's nothing on the horizon. That's why I don't care about our home victories now. Unless the BCCI wake up and stop the denial and start doing something about it, I actually hope we lose our home series' aswell. Maybe, just maybe, that will wake up the BCCI.

We don't need grass pitches in our domestic. That's only a way to throw away our advantage. Just have talented players playing county or something like that. A series win against a top team is good no matter where it is.

They had match fixing problems. Look at their recent record. Our system is much better than theirs. You forget the 20 months we were number 1, the series victory in Eng 07, dominating Aus in Aus in 03, the draw in SA away very quickly. The only thing is the core of our team (fab 3) are no longer good enough and need to be replaced.

We are not going to successful if we settle for mediocrity,we should not be afraid to make wholesale changes.I will dump all batsmen except kohli(who has yet to convince me) and the mentally fragile Sachin and dump everybody including the joker Dhoni.the bowlers should also be on notice too.

Fixed, where do you think Rahane, Pujara, Rohit, Kohli came from? The Ranji ofcourse.

Then all teams need to stop playing at home. B-> Let's all move to the rank turners of dubai. :two_thumbs_up:

Thats being completely ignorant and simply not true.

Fixed' date=' where do you think Rahane, Pujara, Rohit, Kohli came from? The Ranji ofcourse.[/quote'] First of all the emerging players tournament was not an A-tour. There is a difference. Players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli (at the time), Suresh Raina, etc. would have composed the India A side. Furthermore, we would have been playing Australia A, etc. not Australian Institute of Sport. There's a difference between having talented youngsters and strong bench-strength. Thats the thing I don't think many people realise. Also, all those players you mentioned Rahane, Pujara, Rohit, Kohli have not yet established themselves in Test cricket. The reason is a different story (due to selection). But if they do, it will be in-spite of Ranji Trophy, not because of it. Racking up centuries and averaging 60+ on absolute flat tracks in a diluted mediocre competition won't produce a large number of high-quality cricketers. I don't know how people in their right mind can argue against this. This isn't rocket science. The question is simple: * Do we want to produce high-quality Test players both home and away? If yes, then we need to use domestic cricket as a breeding ground. Prepare a variety of pitches. That doesn't mean don't have a few dustbowls, but also have a couple of greentops and hard bouncy decks, so that batsmen and bowlers know how to play on any wicket BEFORE they reach international cricket. If the answer to that question is no, then thats fine we can just continue with our dustbowls at home, and hope that Australia, England and South Africa don't improve their performances against spin.
