Sooda Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I have been saying he is awful since he started playing for India. Nothing shows what a poor judge you are more than that :cantstop:
mhr123 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 IP got fecked up after he started following Wasim Akram's advises... he changed his wrist position and this lead to loosing his swing which he was famous for. The incoming delivery was his lethal weapon , which lead him taking hat-trick verses Pakistan has completely gone out of radar.. u can hardly see him swinging in. Most of the time he is trying to bowl across the seam these days. I heard Wasim commenting on his incoming delivery ... which Wasim himself took ages to master but for Irfan it came naturally to him... I hope he again starts working on his old action and come back strongly so that we can permanently say good bye to idiots like Jaddu..
Swing_n_Speed Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Trundler or not but Irfan has always delivered in Aus. Right from his debut series in Aus in 2003-04 to 2007-08 series and now he has managed to perform. Maybe the Aus pitches suit him. He should be in the team as the next WC is in Aus and we sorely need a pace all-rounder in the team and Irfan has done the job for us more often than not in Aus. Superstitious thinking bro. Did'nt Shewag demolish the Aussies in the test serious prior to the ost recent one? He couldn't repeat it though rit? So past performances especially those with a gap of years in between them are no indication whatsoevr of future performances. Past performances notwithstanding during the last game he looked good. Anyways this is his last chance with the national team. Perform or Perish. I wish they had given him the whole tournament to play, like Sharma and Kohli!
cybervickey Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 IK should be concentration on his bowling solely .HE gets crazy swing and if h practices hard he will be good.
CG Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 How can you say he will give away a god amount of runs when he was one of our most economical bowler in the match and has done well consistently in the past? SRT's case is different coz he played 4 Tests and didn't do much but in case of Irfan he hasn't evenbeen given a chance and the one game he got he performed. There are idiots who forget how many matches he has won in both odis and tests,t20s with both bat and ball.
King Tendulkar Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 There are idiots who forget how many matches he has won in both odis and tests' date='t20s with both bat and ball.[/quote'] :hysterical:
saneindian Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 KT, in ODIs Pathan has 6 MoM awards in 109 matches, match winner Bhajji has 4 in 229 and Sreesanth, who should be picked for every India match, has won 1 in 50. Aage kuch nahin boloonga.
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 KT, in ODIs Pathan has 6 MoM awards in 109 matches, match winner Bhajji has 4 in 229 and Sreesanth, who should be picked for every India match, has won 1 in 50. Aage kuch nahin boloonga. IP is a match winner and always took key wickets at the top of the order more so than during the final few overs. People forget we have Zak and Umesh and the rest are mediocre/trundlers, IP can be a very important player for us in ODI's.
Sooda Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 By that token even SRT should be there, and we both know where me and you stand on that. :) Looks IP's role needs to be defined here. He is NOT a first up bowler. Now if he is a 5-6 down batsman who will bowl 4-5 overs I get it. But if he is gonna be bowling 8-10 overs every game we are looking at a good amount of runs given. Of course if he proves me wrong I would be a happy camper but at this stage I am not convinced. took 1 for 23 in a 7 over new ball spell. Ill take that, his first bit of competitive bowling since he got to Aus, obviously a match VS Aus will be a far sterner test but we can take this for now. Hopefully he will get better. I bet KT was totally gutted when he got that wicket.
Old guy Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 he bowled well.. i dont expect much from him.. but he can clear boundry at end can stick around with our tail wont mind him in team.
King Tendulkar Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I bet KT was totally gutted when he got that wicket. Yeah I was devesated. Couldn't sleep that night:hysterical:

I wish they had given him the whole tournament to play, like Sharma and Kohli! Agreed that those series were in the past but IP hasn't played any part this series. It's not as if he failed and in the one game he got he performed. It's imortant to give more matches to IP to evaluate whether he can cut it in odis in Aus coz the next WC is in Aus and a fast bowling all-rounder would be a priceless asset for the team. IP has age on his side and deserves more chances especially in Aus where pitches will generally support pace bowling.

Although I'm not even thinking bout IP playing in the world cup squad just yet.Just focusing on his current potential. But you'll never know how good or bad he is unless you play him. Good thing Dhoni finally listned to us :--D
1983-2011 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Bowled well today, 3 for 61. and also 3rd highest indian run scorer in the match
gaurav92 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Ghanta he owled well He was gifted with 3 wickets today, but yes he deserves a few more go in the side. :nice:
Sooda Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 He was not gifted them all, Husseys was a good ball when he was looking dangerous, bowled ok if not great at the death too...
VRV Singh Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 The stresses of the last six years has told on Irfu, he is losing his hair..
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Legend! Same amount of runs given away as VK but took 3 wickets and looked threatening throughout!
