Scored once in out of five matches against England at home. Scored a duck against WI. God knows how he'll buy a run. Tiwary would surely score many more given the same opportunities. tiwary deserves a chance after his 100. But he is a middle order bat , may be in place of Raina after they bowl 2 more short balls in the next 2 games.:giggle: Rahane in place of Sachin or Sehwag should have been there.

Even Pappu Patel is there as a backup opener, who's scored more runs than Rahane has in his last five games :giggle:

Rahane was motm in Mohali against England where we chased big total. He is slow but he ain't a pokeman like Gambhir , so will be a better player in tough conditions. Rohit and Virat too had their failures but were given long runs. Rahane too deserves that.He should have been in the squad. And Tiwary and Rahane are not competing for the same spot.

And that too when we have 2 more part-timers in Raina and Rohit! Why go with 2 pacers in that case? Let's just go with 5 spinners and be done with it.

The bowlers that took Rahane out are Haberfield (first match) and Lalor (both innings in the 2nd match). Bollinger just bowled 11 overs in the second match and got smashed around (conceding 52 runs). So, he effectively did nothing. 2nd string and 3rd string attacks bowling better than India is nothing new and is surely no indicator. Having said that, the India bowlers did better than these 2nd string attacks in the 2nd match where Rahane scored 15 and a 16-ball-zero. :hehe: Rahane on present form cannot play any kind of bowling, anywhere in the world (be in internationals in India, domestics in India or tour games in Australia). It will only take Tiwary five balls to overtake what Rahane has scored in his last five innings (tour games + internationals).
