chainsmoker1985 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 they are all pathetic. all have wobbly bellies and fat hanging off various places apart from a couple of the younger guys. if you took 11 bollywood hero actors, they would all be in better physical shape than an indian cricket 11. fookin shameful. Actors can't even stand for 25 overs in the field. It won't be more shameful for Cricketers that you r comparing them to actors :cantstop:
VRV Singh Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 I vote bring back Greg Chappell. We are heading into a new era. The oldies are on the way out. Time for the revolution. No Gangu to stand in the way this time..and the panauti will refuse to commentate on India's games too. Time to whip these morons into shape :hitler:
BERGKAMP Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Actors can't even stand for 25 overs in the field. It won't be more shameful for Cricketers that you r comparing them to actors :cantstop: probably but if you lined up 11 actors and this indian team and asked 100 people who dont even know what cricket is - 'which of these 2 groups is a international sports team?' none would point at the cricketers.

Yeah, thats because actors 'look' fit. Ask these same guys to run two rounds of the stadium and then you will know. Most of the actors will not last one round.
BERGKAMP Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 it would just be nice to have more than 1 or 2 guys who looks and perform like actual athletes, instead of overweight passengers.
CG Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 it would just be nice to have more than 1 or 2 guys who looks and perform like actual athletes' date=' instead of overweight passengers.[/quote'] We have.Except shewag and ashwin most are pretty good,I would take overweight cricketers who can win us matches than atheletes who can only field well anyday.
chainsmoker1985 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 probably but if you lined up 11 actors and this indian team and asked 100 people who dont even know what cricket is - 'which of these 2 groups is a international sports team?' none would point at the cricketers. Bro, this is a non-sense example that you are giving. Going by that, if we stand a team of 11 soldiers and 11 actors, everyone will say actors look better and taller. So, by spending 6-12 months in gym, you can't compete with the world like cricketers and sportsmen do. There's no comparison. I bet even Laxman or Dravid at this age can beat any actor in fitness test.
BERGKAMP Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 all i'm saying is have some pride in appearance, you are an international sports man who has access to the best training facilities in the world, yet we have pot bellies galore in the team. it is not acceptable in the modern game imo. maybe 10 years ago but things have moved on. keeping in top shape requires discipline, and if some players have not got it off the field, they won't have it in on field as they have shown.

This time I agree. If you notice, out of all our newbies, only Ashwin has some fitness problem, rest looks fit and raring to go. When all the oldies will retire in 1 or 2 yrs, the new team will be absolutely electric

akshayxyz Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Rohit Sharma looks pregnant half the time :giggle: did you see his catching effort?
Deleted_User_1 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 The thing that amazes me is look at the Husseys and Ponting.....they are probably fitter than all our players and they are getting there wrt age.
Magneto Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 did you see his catching effort? Sharma is an awesome catcher, no questions asked. I remember the three awesome catches he had taken in that 2010 IPL match against Delhi Daredevils. But his fatboy appearance needs to be worked upon, that way he'll move faster as well. I completely agree with Frimpong that international sportsmen need to look lean and hungry.

Ponting is a jackass, but deserves a great deal of respect for his efforts at keeping his fitness in check. He is still a first-class fielder and fleet across the turf. It is a very admirable standard.

I completely agree with Frimpong that international sportsmen need to look lean and hungry. Rohit Sharma is also a very safe fielder. Just that he may not look like another Jonty Rhodes but yea, you r right. He might look good on the field now, but after 5 yrs, he may turn into another Laxman

Did you see him make any mistakes? I dont think so :finger:

I dont think so :finger: Haha, did I say that Ashwin being fat is a good thing or he is awesome fielder? :finger: I remember Sehwag used to take some awesome catches in his jawaani. But see what has happened to him now. Similarly, Rohit is being spared now because he still has 'youth'. If he doesn't shed his excess flab, he'll be like Sehwag in a few years. And neither does he move very fast.
