Ultimate_Game Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 ^ Which is exactly 36.43 more than the "Baadshah" a.k.a "Don" :hysterical: :cantstop: Yup yup, as I said earlier all stats before Tendulkar started playing are null and void and Bradman's average is questionable since he didn't have an average of more than 36.42 against the bowlers Tendulkar faced :haha: Pity Tendulkar still can't get out-distance himself against the likes of Kallis, but I have no doubt you consider Kallis greater than Bradman as well :giggle:
Ultimate_Game Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Give it up already. You can educate an ignorant person, but not a delusional. Yeah Bradman did not face Wasim Akram, Glen Mcgrath, AA Donald, Waqar and Ambrose. But SRT did..and guess what he scored a sweet average of 37 against these greats :haha::haha::haha: including a sweet 29 runs at home :two_thumbs_up: In matches involving Mgrath, AA Donald, Akram, Waqar & Ambrose here is midget's stats 32 Tests 2006 runs@36.43 Thats Bradmanesque for sure. :giggle: I am just having a laugh where people claim Bradman faced trundlers or bowling was piss poor before SRT days totally ignoring the fact about uncovered pitches, no field setting limitations, no 1 or 2 bouncer rule, no protective equipment etc., and totally ignoring the fact that if runs were so easy to come by everyone would have filled their boots like 2000s :haha: I thought of myself as a bit jingoistic who argued for Gavaskar, Tendulkar, Kapil and Dhoni (in odis) for selection in All Time XI team, but posters out here take the cake :haha: Claimimg Tendulkar being greater than Bradman, when SRT hasn't even proved himself better than Kallis sure is mind-boggling :giggle:

Ultimate_Game Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 lol ... when stuck and cornored bring out the smilies ' date=' ridicule, insults and suchlike ... how original ... who would have thunk.[/quote'] Once again just for you, and this time without smilies... Yup yup, as I said earlier all stats before Tendulkar started playing are null and void and Bradman's average is questionable since he didn't have an average of more than 36.42 against the bowlers Tendulkar faced. Pity Tendulkar still can't get out-distance himself against the likes of Kallis, but I have no doubt you consider Kallis greater than Bradman as well. I think Kallis being greater than Bradman is quite genuine as he's definitely in the same class as Tendulkar with an average higher than Tendulkar's. So if you consider SRT greater than Bradman isn't it fair to say that Kallis is greater than Bradman as well. But in case you think Tendulkar > Bradman > Kallis I would love to see your justification.

Old guy Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Posted many many times ... but here are the 3 top reasons why Bradman cant be compared to SRT 1. Never played any real quality bowling as SRT did. 2. played in only 2 countries on just 10 diff grounds 3. played in only one format of the game with ample practice matches against the same bowlers who would play in the Test series. wht abt kallis

Going by that logic even Kallis > Bradman, isn't it? And Samaraweera is also well on his way to trumping Bradman coz Samaraweera scored a 100 in SA against Steyn and Morkel, and Bradman never faced bowlers of that quality.

Old guy Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 which is why i asked you earlier to prove that the 4 bowlers you mentioned earlier were better than Ambrose' date='Ws,Donald etc and you went silent. Now dont bring in some random red herring such as distance from peers. It has got nothing to do with absolute skill levels.[/quote'] it has actually ..it shows how much more skilled you are compared to ur peers

Now dont bring in some random red herring such as distance from peers. It has got nothing to do with absolute skill levels.[/quote'] What red herring am I bringing in? I am simply asking you whether Kallis is also greater than Bradman since he's statistically in the same ball-park as Tendulkar and in fact averages more than Tendulkar, and has also scored runs around the world. I simply want to know so I understand where you are coming from. I already explained my logic, i.e. Bradman averaged 99.94 so he's better than everyone else including Tendulkar and Kallis. But you said Tendulkar is greater coz Bradman didn't score round the world and didn't face quality bowlers. So I simply want to get a better understanding of your argument by asking whether you consider Kallis better than Bradman as this wil act as frame of reference, if you will, for me. If you think both Kallis and SRT are greater than Bradman I will be better able to understand your argument as it will be consistent and I will be in a position to counter it. That's why a simple yes or no question, i.e. do you consider Kallis greater than Bradman or not.

Ultimate_Game Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 I will always prefer modern day greats over pre WW era greats. That's fair enough. Now I know you are consistent with your argument, and what your criteria is for being a great. Going by your criteria, i.e. runs around the world (more than 30 venues and more than 6-7 countries), you consider Kallis, Tendulkar, Lara, Ponting etc. greater than Bradman, and I beg to differ from your point of view.
Old guy Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 pls terll me how it explains that he would avg more than any of the modern greats without actually having made any runs against bowling of equal quality. in short iam talking about absolute terms. i dont get this..isnt it simple the better the player better will be his average ? (atleast in same era) no ? wht every one has been saying is..in this generation tendulkar hasnt really out performed others in tests... now u will say in bradman's era there wasnt much competition but that just proves he was gr8 even against the odds i still dont see why u even care about wht othes think.. i think tendulkar is gr8st good for u let others think differently comparing individuals here in team games that too from diff eras is little stupid

Lurker Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Very droll, Bradman did not face warne and muruli ,walsh also wonder why you did not add them,:winky: Here are tendulkar stats against these bowlers+ the bowlers you have mentioned- You are barking up the wrong tree mate. a) First up I am not some random SRT lover who makes every thread about him one way or the other. b) The names mentioned were NOT by me but others. Maybe you should take up with them on why Murali was not included. The larger point of course is that if a player exists in an era with great bowlers that does NOT equate itself to anything. SRT existed in the same era as Mcgrath, Akram, Ambrose, Donald and Waqar and got his behind handed to him. With regards to Kallis you can perhaps open another thread comparing him with SRT??? Not that I would care lol. Hopefully that clarifies....:winky::winky:

I never feel as if Ten would fight it out in the middle and make the difference. when we have the below mentioned pairs in the opposition: Vaas-Murali, Amb-Walsh, Wasim-Waqar, Pollock-Donald, mcGrath-warne M I No R Avg BCLara 36 68 3 3370 51.85 sWaugh 42 66 7 2745 46.53 Sachin 29 49 1 2020 42.08 Note: Sachin's hasn't even played that many games against these bowlers :P
