:haha: That's so true. Actually in just concluded series we had fastest ever bowling attack (two bowlers consistently bowling 140+) but results have been worst ever. I recall how much fast-fanatics of forum were rejoicing seeing speed guns readings on very first day of first test.
i put months of efforts to keep these people on ground....failed VK done that in a week

Results were worse as our batsman cannot bat and catch.
Agree. At least bowlers kept us in the game in 1st test. did well in 3rd Test. What can fast bowlers do when great batsmen can't score for toffees even on utter pattas.

They did bowl decently a couple of times but were often indiscplined, wayward, bowling rubbish and pies. The batting was surely ridiculous, but neither has the bowing performance been close to decent.

And the turnaround happened when he upped his speed by 5 kmph :P
I think a critical point of the debate should be 'What should be the minimum acceptable average speed of a trundler'?

Captain didn't have anything on scoreboard to apply pressure. else it would have been better than 0-4. My point is Batting should be blamed for this whitewash. Because they were consistently pathetic and ridiculous. No point blaming fast bowlers for this.

thats fine...but when They bowled out for 99 they made sure England didnt ran away with advantage... thats what counts there..just imagine what if England made 300 in that innings

And who is the quality phaast bowler in the horizon who stays fit? Umesh is the only guy twinkling in the horizon, and possibly even he's picked up an injury (otherwise, I don't see the reason for him being left out). The point is to debate these blanket arguments that since somewhere is a trundler he is useless, and since someone has pace he's a shining light. Wayward pacers who struggle to take 5 wickets in a series are as bad as a bad-quality trundler. You cannot put a blanket statement either that a quality fast bowler is gonna be a match winner, and a quality trundler may not be. That would depend on quite a few variables.
and who is quality tundler? im asking u the same question... only good bowler i see who is test ready is dinda..nechim has potential.. hope these 2 can perform well otherwise we are in deep trouble cos ishant, sreesanth really disappointed us!

see there is a difference between 125 and 135.. big difference... our tundlers should atleast hit 135.. 125 is not international class.. people think 120-130 is same thing its not .. primary example chaminda vass at his best he was in 130's with lot of zip and was good bowler but at end of his career he was struggling imo only bcos his pace was in 120's he still had that swing.. what we need is a one genuine fast bowler as a striking option and a good medium pacer (not tundler) who can support him well

That's what I said - the minimum acceptable average speed of a trundler should be the main question rather than worshipping whoever/whatever is express pace. Regarding quality trundlers - PK has done well for a while pretty consistently, VK is suddenly showing signs of improvement, and Zak is there. Blind faith in express pace will not take you anywhere anyway.

its not blind faith even in india aaron looked better then vinay.. if today zack would ve not come back and took sanga we would ve been in deep trouble.. its not about speed this guy even at this best is average..hardly international class or are u saying he is the best india has and no one is better in domestic cricket?

I can't put whole blame on batsmen. Bowlers should also take blame. Batting is far more difficult when opposition team has put some 600 runs on board w r t situation where opposition has put some 300. We are allowing players like Michael Clarke to score triple centuries. We allowed Ponting to score two centuries and plenty of runs when he struggled against every single team in last 2-3 years.

thing is bowlers did well 3 times but batsman never performed.. bowlers were inconsistent while batsmen were just pathetic consistently..

Aaron looked okay to me. Nothing great. Vinay also looked okay in the WI series in India. We are at an okay-okay level in all counts now. Better than Vinay in the domestics? Try out Dinda and Pankaj Singh, we'll anyway only know once we see them in action against top batting sides.

i think dinda will do well..his last spell convinced me that was match winning bowling jsut shows u how far ahead he is from others.. and aaron well in last match he was injured in rest of odis he performed well..(rememb he got old ball when even yadav struggled ) he looked better then vinay thats my point...can be a good support bowler.

Look at his fitness. Spending more time in the ICU than playing matches. These injury-prone bowlers are horrible for longterm planning. You plan things around them and suddenly when the crunch time comes they have bandages all over.
