im disappointed by rohit he hasn ot played one good innings in south africa and now in australia.. will still give him 2 more matche but his time is running up tiwary can come in if he keeps on failing

Super tailunt Rohit needs to play a good innings sooner rather later. The way he was batting today was amateurish.Playing in the air every odd ball and just flaying bat at the ball. This guy has no idea how to play according to the situation or play percentage ODI cricket which Dhoni does or Kohli is mastering now. Due to this rotation policy, he will most likely play every game and hopefully he will come up with a match winning innings soon.

There are not many better bats than Kohli in the ODI game.
he is getting better and better ... look how he improved in tests.. it all started with 100 in odis in england... hope rohit can learn from him!

2 good tests innings have changed him. His defensive game has become more tight now. Which will help him. Good innings by him today. :two_thumbs_up:

In whose place? Raina? My side for next match SRT Sehwag Gambo Kohli RG Sharma Dhoni Jaddu Ashwin (or Rahul if pitch suits him but it will weaken the batting) Zak VK Yadav Its about time Yadav gets a chance.
They've made it clear that 3 seniors would not play together. Tiwary can come in Raina's place or Rohit's (after he notches up two more failures; doesn't seem his batting is going anywhere in this tour).

atlast u agreed.. he truggled when there is extra bounce and then tries to hit the ball through the field in air... thats a big problem..hope he sorts it out.

I thought it was 3 openers won't play together i.e Gambo Sachin and Sehwag .they will select two of them .

I never debate/disagree with facts. Rohit's batting in this series is simply reminding me of all his failures in his ODI career earlier.

3 openers = 3 seniors no? I meant these three only.

why cant he just play it with soft hands? i even notcied this durring practice games.. he was lofting balls (through commentry ofc) playing them in air same thing happened today but internation teams wont allow u to play like this micheal clarke had same problem he worked hard on it ..rohit needs to do the same

We seem to be getting good at making routine chases into nailbiting ones. I think time to give Manoj Tiwary a chance.
If this was Aus we were playing it would have been curtains...totally amateurish performance- no excuse for top 4 batsman falling to crappy shots.

I understand your points. But I am not in favor of dropping him even if he fails in 3-4 innings. I will give him a permanent place the whole series and give him satisfaction that he don't have to worry about his place at all. The reason is simple, Virat and Rohit are our 2 best bets from the youngsters. If we can give so many chances to Laxman than why not Rohit. Everyone knows if Rohit can get his act together then he will be the next sensation in the cricketing world. I, seriously love watching Rohit play. His biggest qualities- 1. Perfect technique 2. His bat face looks so big while playing(indication of the perfect technique) and his elbow is so up-right, always in right position, just copy book style. 3. He has so much time while playing deliveries means he judges the length so quickly. 4. He is a very good player of short pitch bowling. Just need to get his act together again. 5. He has age on his side, he is 24 and half. So, this is actually ideal time to settle his feet in international cricket. His loss will be India's biggest loss. That means we will have to invest same time and procedure on some other youngster.

Yes he struggles against left arm pacemen. Thankfully, his this weakness is not that much exposed in international cricket like Suresh Raina's short pitch weakness. Lets see how they both (Rohit and Suresh) gets out of it. Time will tell

no he has big flaw in his technique he cant play ball outside of stump rising up (in australian or south african conditions) along the ground he has to hit it in air.. i pointed this out even before series same thing happened now and good player of short bowling u cant judge that by odis.. kohli proved himself in tests.. rohit will also need to do that..short stuff is completely diff in tests.. dont go by his pulls in sub continent its easier there... and about he has time well thats his technique its look lazy kind of like laxman..imho kohli hasm ore time.. we saw in test series he was pulling balls towards mid wicket thats hte best indicator of time batsman has..

Rohit Sharma actually has probably the best technique of the youngsters. You have to feel for him, since he was picked in the Test squad but didn't get a single match despite being part of a 4-0 losing squad. And since has played just 1 T20 and 2 ODIs. The ODI team is fine, the middle order of Rohit, Raina and Dhoni just need to step up. I would probably replace Jadeja with Pathan, mainly because having a pace bowling all-rounder gives India the flexibility to play Ashwin and Rahul Sharma. Other than that, I wouldn't make too many changes.
