DomainK Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Looks like Airlines have stopped giving cotton as part of cost-cutting in the last few years. And candies, and food, and water bottles, and face wipes, and every effin thing they used to give. I wonder how long before they start charging for the air conditioner, life jacket and oxygen mask separately.
anotherhawkeye Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Chew gum or talk..don't let the pressure to build inside you by keep moving your jaw...
jusarrived Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 Thanks guys ..am flying again tomorrow ....let's see if any of the tips work
jusarrived Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 cotton in the ears do the trick btw what airlines did u travel with? Travel is mostly domestic and kingfisher ...after a log time I was taking a jet flight here
Alchemist Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 From My experience of travel, I have experienced this more on Airbus made flights than Boeing flights.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I carry cotton with me all the time.or just use earphones.Pressure changes give me serious ear aches.
Desi Cartman Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I am amazed that none of you guys mentioned Yawning ... its the easiest and funnest way of getting rid of the pressure that builds in the ears. BTW I have experienced sharp pain during landing once but I think the pressure wasnt controlled properly on that flight as I had ear pain for most part of the flight.

How can one Yawn on demand??Opening and closing the jaws was suggested...
yoda Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I do the Yawning thingy and it works like a charm. Ofc it only works when you are tired which you typically are after long flights. If you just woke up after a nice night's rest and take an hours flight, not sure this technique will help.
Desi Cartman Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Its quite easy to Yawn.. just thinking about yawn or seeing someone yawn makes one do it too. I have yawned just writing this post .
VRV Singh Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I hate flights. Normally have a bag of Haribos with me. I think keeping hydrated is most important though.
