1983-2011 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 He averages 33 in post 2000 ODI era. He has played 236 matches with only 6 centuries and strike rate of 75.
ganeshran Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Technically, the best batsman in the Pakistan side. More suited to the longer format though
1983-2011 Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 not crap average average of 33 for a one down batsman in the post 2000 ODI era is poor
Ultimate_Game Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Yup he sucks in the shorter format, and is a FTB in tests.
ganeshran Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 He isnt a FTB. Not a great but definitely a very good test bat.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 He isnt a FTB. Not a great but definitely a very good test bat. Haven't seen him score in SA or Aus. He's good only on dead tracks in the sub-continent.
ganeshran Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Haven't seen him score in SA or Aus. He's good only on dead tracks in the sub-continent. Played good knocks in Aus, Eng and SA too. His average is a bit on the low in SA, but that doesnt make him a FTB.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Played good knocks in Aus' date=' Eng and SA too. His average is a bit on the low in SA, but that doesnt make him a FTB.[/quote'] He's not in the same clas as Jayawardene as far as FTBs go but he isn't anything special either. He's just a decent batsman, nothing more nothing less.
gaurav92 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Currently, he is the best Paki batsman in Tests :nice:
Old guy Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 good test player... not suited for odis really
Old guy Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 but now i see malik getting out.. i guess he is good enough to be part of this batting line up
mahesh_g Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Played good knocks in Aus' date=' Eng and SA too. His average is a bit on the low in SA, but that doesnt make him a FTB.[/quote'] No you are wrong. He never played any long innings in Aus or SA. yes he scored centuries in Eng but wickets were a little flatter as both teams had scored over 500+ in their first innings. I saw some fools comparing his away average with players like Sachin and Dravid who has scored a lot of runs in Aus and SA under difficult batting conditions.
