i can apply the same logic to bradman and say he played very few matches compared to today's batsmen so he may not be great. but then how many matches are not "too few matches". u cant arbitrarily decide the number for that . what you have is a whole career worth matches of two legends in a particular region. at this point in time umesh has marginally better stats then them. they cant improve it, umesh can. i didnt say "umesh> waqar/akhtar", i said "umesh in australia> waqar/akhtar in australia".
ok so Afretard > Warne and Murali in India, that too by 20 percentage points

ok so Afretard > Warne and Murali in India' date=' that too by 20 percentage points[/quote'] sure, if you say that afridi was a genuine leg spinner like warne and put them in same category, then i see no point in arguing with you. i didnt compare umesh with abdul razzak in australia just because they both bowled right hand fast. i compared genuine fast bowlers.

What do you mean by a genuine leg spinner? Both are in the same category - of wrist spinners unless you want to invent a new sub category on turning the ball more which Warne did but obviously Afretard doesnt. Comparing Yadav with Razzak would have made no difference to the point you were making which is to justify some bizarre point using Statsguru. Yadav has a lot of promise as seen by his bowling and I certainly hope he turns out to be better than Waqar at the end of his career, but making such comparisons now on filtered data doenst make any sense. For the record Ijaz Ahmed averages higher than SRT in England and both are genuine batsmen

The Australian team of the last decade had six genuine batsmen + Gilchrist. This Australian team (against who Yadav bowled) had three genuine batsmen + Haddin. :giggle:

by genuine leg spinner i mean he is in a team for his leg spinning only. is that really hard to understand. to me and to afridi himself, his role was a batting all rounder till about 2005. if he is a genuine leg spinner (might i add the word "test" here as we are talking about test performance) to you then fine. no problem. to me razzak is shaid afridi of fast bowling and afridi is abdul razzak of leg spinning. thats it. if ijaz has better average then sachin then i guess its pretty cool, but does, he also have more runs, centuries in England? no. see i didnt made this thread just because umesh had better average, he also had better strike rate and the same amount of wickets to an all time great there. if he gets another tour he will surely pass these greats in wicket column and maybe improve his stats.now does afridi has the same amount of wickets as shane warne has against india ? nup. whole point here is that umesh made a decent start. thats all:two_thumbs_up:
