Virat's Desert Storm?

Bichara Virat ko Dushyasan kyu banadiya yaar :winky: A better picture woulda been Jayadrata's killing. Virat - Arjun Malinga - Jayadrata while the arrow makes contact with his neck Mahela - Drona watching helplessly Sanga - Duryodhan, clueless Dilshan - Shakuni, just that instead of broken leg he had a broken hand Viru - Krishna (he cheated by lasting more than an over - think eclipse)

I have watched Desert Storm and the finals that followed, both live. I rate SRT's 98 ahead of these two innings (infact i rate that as the best Sachin has ever played in an ODI). With all due respect to Sachin and other great Indian cricketers, Kohli just played the best ever ODI innings by an Indian batsman the other night. It is rare to see teams winning games under such circumstances, more so the Indian team which usually folds up like a tent with its back against the wall.

Yes, it was a great knock, however most of the deliveries that were hit were some pretty poor deliveries. The leg side shots he got off Malinga were just outright poor line by Malinga or Kohli just adjusted to the attempted Yorkers and converted them into ordinary deliveries on the leg stump. Nevertheless, it was a breathtaking knock. 320 target in 36 overs, WTF!

Didn't Tendulkar get out to similar deliveries? Kohli made it look easy. If he had missed even one ball he would have been a goner .

BTW, I only saw the highlights, did he give any chances at all?

BTW' date=' I only saw the highlights, did he give any chances at all?[/quote'] Seen great innings from lot of players. This gotta be one of the most authoritative ODI innings i have ever seen. The swagger , poise, control with which he played was incredible to watch. There are lot of power packed innings you might have seen from Gayle, Gilly, Jayasuriya, Yuvraj. But this was just sublime.

For a change I didn't watch even a single ball of the match, didn't even check the score ( Indian innings)... was he out multiple times?

Ok.. your words suggested it happened multiple times. btw- does it matter, the timing of the yorker? ( previous ball, anticipation/pre-meditation, run of play, amount of swing, some randomness? ....) considering at least few of these factors - how many of exactly 'similar' deliveries did VK put away? And how many the budhao choked on?

Oldie missed the low full toss on middle which he would have been able to put away in his younger days by just putting bat to ball considering fine leg was up. Kohli hammered similar deliveries for 4s.
