Split? lol lower level functionaries of JDU and BJP are abusing each other on a daily basis. Lot of talk in the local media that Nitish Kumar wants to play the martyr due to a likely split in the JDU, with many upper caste MLAs likely to move out. There are whispers that Nitish may even arrest Modi when he goes to Bihar for BJP rally to boost his chances with minority voters. All it will do is give a lifeline to RJD and Lalu. As for the Federal front, DMK vs Amma, Left vs Mamata, Nitish vs Lalu, SP vs BSP, TDP vs YSRC..we will have a federal front with one of those parties in it and another will prop up with the name Democratic Federal Front or something similar.

Why a BJP-JD(U) split will be good for India http://www.firstpost.com/politics/why-a-bjp-jdu-split-will-be-good-for-india-867775.html Too many proxies, fake secularism, and alliances nonsense
Good article. I think Modi has been on forefront with this right??? He has been constantly bringing States vs Central debate and asking for reforms in this relation. I tell you, even if there were no 2002, these exact same people would have criticized him for different reason. If his role in 2002 is clear legallly then BJP should give Modi leadership and as this article rightly suggested that he should take along all the state leadership in moving forward. Over the next 2-3 elections, the party will be strong.

Press Trust of India ‏@PTI_News JD(U) is like-minded party, can be trusted on secularism, says Congress.
JD(U) will do a political harakiri if it joins the Congress bandwagon which is doomed to crash. It could join a 3rd front to keep it's options open...

Laughing Gas ‏@waatho If Nitish Kumar pulls out and joins UPA, will Mumbai Police book case against the Congress for encouraging JD(U) to commit suicide? :hysterical: yeah, it really would be political suicide to join Cong at this time - if they really have to split with the BJP then they should remain neutral and then join whichever alliance comes to power in 2014 - Ajit Singh se kuch seekhna chahiye in logon ko!!!

Don't count Con party out ' date=' they will come up with some cheap election gimmicks which make poor people happy for short time [ex. Food security bill']
I don't think they will be able to make another Govt. The most optimistic result for them is to give 'outside support' to any makeshift 3rd combination and later pull them down (like they've done previously)...

Nitish must resign if NDA breaks up: BJP

Patna: In a further souring of ties, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday told chief minister Nitish Kumar to quit and seek a fresh mandate if Bihar's ruling coalition splits. BJP leader and minister Chandra Mohan Rai told the media: "Nitish Kumar should resign as chief minister because people of the state gave the mandate to the NDA in 2010." Rai said Nitish Kumar should not continue as chief minister if his Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and BJP parted ways in the state amid ongoing tensions. Another BJP leader and MP Hukumdeo Narain Yadav too made the same demand. "Nitish Kumar should resign and go for fresh elections (if the alliance breaks)."
http://ibnlive.in.com/news/nitish-must-resign-if-nda-breaks-up-bjp/399012-37-64.html BJPs demand is justified because JDU didn't get all these seats in Bihar, it was the BJP-JDU alliance that got this mandate so Nitish should have no right no continue in power if that alliance breaks.

no rules as such. Most probably he won't resign as he needs only 4 MLAs to form the Govt and he will get support from Independent MLAs but he should resign because it wasn't his party alone that got the mandate.
