Ram Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 The guy doing the 'kalaripayattu' is an Indian :yay: I am happy.
ViruRulez Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Racist by a country mile. A bit too much coincidence in the Indian, Chinese and Black/Brazilian if they are trying to explain something else and quite hard to digest for me. And it is funny that European countries which were occupying countries all over the world and looting them a few decades ago. If Europe developed it was due to the raw materials and resources they extracted from all these countries. So, it is funny how these countries are a threat when they had been occupying them upto less than a century ago. Having said that, I don't give a *** about what they think. It only shows they are becoming weaker and less secure. They are still the world's richest nations and so, I am not sure why they are becoming less secure from non-whites/BRICs or whatever you may derive from the ad.
Precambrian Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Didn't find it that bad... it's about assimilating foreigners... immigrants are by nature insecure and wary about native Europeans. But the lady is calm and wants to initiate a dialogue rather than a fight. Nice ad just that they could've avoided the stereotypes.
Precambrian Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 From EU's apology "The clip featured typical characters for the martial arts genre: kung fu, capoeira and kalaripayattu masters; it started with demonstration of their skills and ended with all characters showing their mutual respect, concluding in a position of peace and harmony. The genre was chosen to attract young people and to raise their curiosity on an important EU policy." Wow.. was that kalaripayattu? If so, Amitabh Bachchan is a tamilian... pathetic homework done by whoever did that video
Clarke Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 The apology sounds m@nure. There was no demonstration of skills or mutual respect in the end. It showed an aggressive behavior from foreign forces which are pacified when surrounded & outnumbered by the peaceful caucasians.

Imperialistic attitude at its best. None of the 3 countries have ever crossed their continents for any sort of Invasion. All the 3 countries are victims of imperialism EU has been uncomfortable ever since BRIC has been talking about forming their own bank.
