Brainfade Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 What a lesson in humility. Now, the writer (Kanishkaa Balachandran) has been watching different cricket than I have. Besides Kohli and Rohit, the batsmen vying for the vacancies in India's Test batting line-up, at No.3 and No.6, include Suresh Raina, Cheteshwar Pujara, Manoj Tiwary, Ravindra Jadeja and S Badrinath. Ravindra Jadeja? Manoj Tiwary? http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/current/story/556810.html

ganeshran Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 The journo didnt claim that these players are more talented than RD, just mentioned the names of those who are vying for the test spots. It was RD who said that the younger players were talented than he was.

Jadeja has not even had a sniff of a test batting slot, let alone at the 3 - 6 spots. And Manoj Tiwary's "vy"ability is just as ridiculous - he has had one good ODI outing. Kohli, Sharma, Raina and Pujara are the only ones currently "vying" for a batting spot. And maybe a case can be made for Rahane based on his first-class record. But, that's it.
