GautiMaan Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Not sure if serious. :hmmm: Then its even more pathetic, selectors didn't know the format of the competition. It's a damn malaise and despicable that a supposedly proffesional body makes this sort of blunder. We have enough of this in the government that ensures India will be a developing country for the rest of our lifetimes.
Ultimate_Game Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 So' date=' couple of good series washed away his sins of 3-4 years?[/quote'] IMO he should have retired a bit early to be honest but at least he did see the light after struggling in Aus. Pity Laxman still han't done so when he was our worst batsman in Eng & Aus.
Roshanrocks Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 To retire or not to retire is Sachin's decision To select or not to select is Selector's decision.
Ultimate_Game Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 To retire or not to retire is Sachin's decision To select or not to select is Selector's decision. I concur. But in this context Srikkanth was implying he won't drop Tendulkar from the team unless Tendulkar himself retires.
Alchemist Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 To OP, why do you want SRT out anyways ? Is it because of his performance or because you want some youngsta beauty to take his place.
Roshanrocks Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I concur. But in this context Srikkanth was implying he won't drop Tendulkar from the team unless Tendulkar himself retires. Srikkanth, while praising Tendulkar for the landmark century, said whether to retire or not should be the batting maestro's personal decision. "Let Sachin only decide about it," said Srikkanth Srikant talked only about retirement, he's smart, he didnt say Sachin could play for India as long as he wants. But yes knowing him he might have implied what u said.

Ultimate_Game Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 To OP, why do you want SRT out anyways ? Is it because of his performance or because you want some youngsta beauty to take his place. This thread or OP is not about Sachin being in or out of the team. This is about our selectors, specifically our chief selector. As I have mentioned in OP I am all for Sachin being in or out of the team but the reason has to be a cricketing one and not "let Sachin decide".

express bowling Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 The decision to retire from international cricket is always taken by the player, atleast officially. So what is Srikanth trying to say ? When was it that the selectors officially decided to retire a player ?

Oh, you base your entire argument and created a new thread on not what he said...but what you thought he said...:hysterical: Peoples personal bias against Tendulkar has no bounds.
