Roshanrocks Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 more money, more runs, more fun :idunno: But his detractors will get more and more :whine:
Raghav_12 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 what he will gain? he tells he play till he loses love of the game ? but dont he think about team results ? what happened in OZ and England ? Without him margins of defeat would have only been bigger. He was highest run accumulator in Australia and second highest in England. 5-6 players should leave ahead of him.

Crookbond Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 another ******* trying to get into the limelight how many times it has to be said bangla defeat cant be solely attributed to him, who the **** cannot defend a near 300 score against bangladesh? b555, I don't think he says that b) that one of the reasons India lost was that Tendulkar was so focused on getting his hundred that his run rate dropped as he approached this landmark, leaving the team short of the 300-plus target that was there for the taking,
Crookbond Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 To a point! He captured the media blitz around the 100th 100 where loss to B'desh and team's ouster from Asia Cup weren't even mentioned. That 100 was celebrated as if the 100 helped us win the World Cup :omg: On top of that Tendulkar's insistence he's top of his game and at his peak even though he has been nothing but mediocre over the last year. And the final point where he hardly showed up at any of the interviews/media interactions when the team was getting owned. As soon as he got his 100th 100, even though it cost the team the match, he was back in the limelight. I just hope Tendulkar had his pound of flesh already with the 100th 100 fiasco and the team doesn't have to suffer anymore UG, I would have to differ on one point. The 100th 100 celebration is a celebration of the 100 x 100s not just the one against Bangladesh. Hence, it's more like a celebration of his entire career and IMHO he deserves to have it.
Crookbond Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 He's got all his stats haywire as well.. For some curious reason the West Indies tests don't count in his opinion. He only talking about those 0-8 away defeats, he does not say it isn't counted. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/35320.html?class=1;filter=advanced;home_or_away=2;orderby=start;spanmax1=31+Jan+2012;spanmin1=21+Jun+2011;spanval1=span;template=results;type=batting;view=match

Hence, it's more like a celebration of his entire career and IMHO he deserves to have it.[/quote'] Fair enough but a bit more candor in admitting the loss was due to that innings and a bit more disappointment at losing to Bangbros and ousted from Asia Cup would have been in order. Obviously scoring 100 intl 100s is no mean feat and I doubt the record will ever be broken but surely not even a statement about loss to B'desh and India's ouster? SRT kept on talking about how great he has been and how "unpatriotic" it would be for him to "go out on the top" etc. but nothing to acknowledge how he contributed to the loss? This sense of delusion and his priorities not the same as team's is what author highlighted and this is exactly what I agree with. After all if you think the difference between Aus and India was "just one big partnership" you have to be flabbergasted. All who saw the Aus debacle would have been in disbelief and lampooned any player who had uttered such remarks but since it's SRT who said it people are ok with it. I am sure if Dhoni or Sehwag or Gambhir had made similar remarks there would have been threads all over the place laughing their @$$ about the comments or taking shots at the players but not even a single remark when SRT comes up with utter tripe like being at the "top of the game" or difference between Aus and India "just one big partnership" or how he "playes for the team" just after playing one of the most selfish innings ever where the team took a back-seat to SRT's march towards an individual milestone.
Ultimate_Game Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 read the posts and their context here is a brief summary of what the haters were saying 1. SRT should quit because he cant bat outside Asia anymore and it is very easy to bat in home conditions. He says runs in India are cheap right here in this thread. 2. His performance in the 0-8 losses were provided as "Evidence" to drop him 3. Later on in your thread :"Indias performance in 90s ...." the head troll deends Indias performance in the 90s (and the ranking which is ENTIRELY based on Home wins) says that India being poor in the 90s was a perception created by SRT fans and that there was nothing as bad as 0-8. U_G agrees with the head troll. So going by that it appears that home performances are what matters ... but pretty soon U_G will show up and tell us that it isnt. But when you point him to your other thread on the 90s he will just simply pretend that he is saying the same thing there. Welcome to lunacy powered by the Tendulkar haters. :hysterical: Since you can't come up with anything to counter the points raised in this thread and in fact are mixing up posters along with the threads here's a step-by-step for you. I hope you don't tax your brain a lot coz going by the logic and cogency of your argument in this thread I actually doubt it :hysterical: So here goes... Argument 1: This thread where I have summarised the points raised in the OP for which you have no answers. The thread actually deals with SRT's priorities/objectives at odds with those of the team. Argument 2: Some other thread related to India's performance in 90s which you somehow are fixated on and in which you yourself admit you apparently had a debate with ANOTHER poster, not me :omg: I can't even find a common ground between the two and now you are mixing the two up and calling others a troll :hysterical: That's rich even for a chap like you. But I can understand since all that fume from adhesives which you must be using to paste the SRT 100th 100 posters all over your place does affect the brain like an intoxicant :giggle: Your logic is more akin to someone asking a question what is 2+2 and getting a response "Mahatma Gandhi is the father of the nation" :haha:
Ultimate_Game Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 here you go --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRLnzmYmS04&feature=player_embedded#! Jump to 5:01 for your question on loss to BD and what the Celebration was all about. But don't let this stop your hatred. Keep the fire burning . There wont be any shortage of excuses to keep the fire going for dishonest people like you. So now I'm "dishonest" :hysterical: Where do you get this stuff from :giggle: The guy chose personal milestone ahead of the team, took the easy way out by never showing up for any media interaction over the last year when even newbies like Ashwin were made to face the media after regular thrashings, has made delusional statements like "the difference between Aus and Ind was that Aus had one big partnership" or "it's unpatriotic to leave when you are at the top" and folks who have called him out for the same are 'dishonest" :cantstop: So it's ok for people to call for Laxman & Dravid's head, to take shots at Sehwag & Gambhir when they open their mouths to make deluded statements, to lampoon Dhoni for nearly losing us the game when he left the charge a bit too late vs Aus during the CB Series, but if a similar yarstick is applied to SRT all hell breaks loose
saneindian Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Was the 100th 100 really as big a media event as this author is suggesting? There was a mandatory post match conference on 16th March, on his return to India on 19th, a couple of events for the promoters and just one PC. I did not see him going from one TV studio to the other giving interviews to everyone. And then before he left for England around 26th March for a toe inspection, there was a party given by Mukesh Ambani, which was turned into a huge event by our news channels. Yes, the news channels did create a buzz around the 100th 100, but can Sachin be blamed for what they did? In fact, he spent more time in NDTV studios raising funds for "support my school campaign", but obviously the author woud like to ignore all that.

Only one question whats wrong in asking SRT retirement ?
