Wasnt aimed at you but apologies.
No issues.
hence why the author is indulging in Bladderdash. He is a Grade-A moron. Please don't encourage such idiots.
Ah! I'm not really encouraging him, just allowing him to have his opinion. Even the worst pieces can have something good in it. I try to look for the same.
In hindsight yes. But so did Kohli. But hindsight is also 20-20. A great way to find out is to look at posts of most of the trolls here at half time. None of them thought that the total was below par.
Actually, to be honest I thought it was below par given the context of our bowling attack (during Sachin's innings I was talking to some of my mates at work place, wish there was a better way to prove this). To add, I didn't think another 20 runs may have made a huge difference.
You don't believe that ? :((
I do. I haven't seen you criticizing anyone, so fair enough.

Do you think Sachin would have played Asia cup if he had scored his 100th century earlier ? I am asking this because he himself didn't play ASIA CUP 2008 and ASIA CUP 2010.

Forget about playing Asia Cup, in hindsight SRT would have toured WI and played odis against them at home as well if he knew what was gonna happen in Aus.

Hmm ...
So the guy who has never been selfish, has "dedicated his life to the team", doesn't want to go coz he' "on top" decided to pick & choose Asia Cup as he wasn't able to do jack shyte away :giggle: But I am sure the real reason SRT decided to play Asia Cup was for the "team" as it would have been "unpatriotic and selfish" to not play when he was "on top" :cantstop:

Not to try and drag Dravid though the mud, but I don't get this retiring on top crap. If he retired after England, fair enough, but he played the Aussie series, where he had a poor outing, it was on the verge of embarrassing how he kept getting bowled. He made comments about going out on his own terms after the series when everyone expected the retirement...and a little while after things have calmed he retires. How is that going out on top?

That is what people said. He did not go out on top actually and cared for team's interests rather than thinking about him going out on top. He could have left after England but he stayed due to tough tour to Aus and did not want to go just before a tough tour for the sake of retiring on top of his game, but he failed in Aus and that helped him decide its enough.

He is a professional journalist and he doesn't know that we played a test series vs west indies last year ? Or is saying 8-0 cool ? Why hasn't be criticized dhoni ? What has he done in test cricket ?
Tendulkar sells papers. Be critical and you'll sell more. Its a tried and tested theory and its proven to work. Mukul Kesavan is an expert in using this to his advantage, as we've seen in the past. If the article was slightly balanced, then it would be worth reading, but its obvious he has an agenda. There are some fair points, but its obvious he's ignored all factors that don't agree with his agenda of pinning everything on one person

People were out for his head anyway.

But Dravid receiving praise' date=' like he really had a choice about his retirement. People were out for his head anyway.[/quote'] He is receiving praises because he assessed the right time and hanged his boot, otherwise, he could easily have played coming home series and selectors would not have dropped him as well because he had 3 successful series before Australia tour. VVS has failed in both England and Australia. SRT too has been below par in both the tours.

If out of all 3, you had to chose 1 player who will continue to play for 2 more years and the other 2 have to retire, whom would you chose?

He still looked the best of the three. Kohli is just about settled, now Pujara and Rohit needs to be brought in against NZ and England.

I don't think any of the three are settled in Test cricket, not even Kohli.
