Mumbai Indians and KKR in their last match did not play a single U23 player in their XI. Wasn't it compulsory for the teams to play at least one U23 player in their match XI? How would it help these U23 players if they don't even play them in matches? Can anyone shed some light on this rule?

Look at this Suryakumar Yadav, played one game, came in pressure situation, didnt do well, others did not do well too, but he was the one dropped for Suman who is not great either. Then ban U23 players from T20 and IPL so that they can concentrate building their game fro FC rather than modelling themselves for useless T20s

RKT bhayya plz come out of this nationalistic thinking to reality.. What do you prefer if you are in place of a U23 player ? T20 or chance in Indian team which may come or may not?

They can certainly get chance in T20 once they pass 23.

Because it is not players' decision. It is BCCI to decide who they want to play. These players earn quite even in FC cricket. U23 is the foundation for he national team for Test cricket and dont forget if a player does not make it to the Indian team, he does not even get the money. Uncapped players are not given huge money that Indian capped players get so it is all more important for them to play for India berth rather than IPL and because even IPL performances does not count much for team India selection as even our T20 team is not selected based on IPL performances apart from exceptions like Rahul Sharma.

Bhai I am not talking about life ban on them, just U23. They will still have enough time to earn that money by joining IPL team once they cross 23.

how much money..? also what about glitz and glamour ? are they travelling in Flights from one city to another city during FC cricket? also how much time IPL runs 2 months ? how much time FC runs ? time to play one IPL match ? Time to play one FC match ? i appreciate your concern for National team..but reality is different..sorry brah

Its ironic how the greater cause is so appealing when we are talking about the livelihoods of other people. Cricketers opt for IPL because it pays more, end of story. not because it has better quality cricket or it contributes to Indian cricket or any other altruistic BS. As professionals with limited shelf life, they are entitled to every avenue of earning money (in a legal way) in the game.
