achilles Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Both of Pune's captains as well as the Team management are kind of obsessed with Jesse Ryder. Frankly, I'd pick Tamim ahead of him. And Luke can come in, in place of Matthews, who is not worth a penny spent over him. Can't bat, can't slog, can't bowl, can't take wickets.
bangladeshifan Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Both captains? he meant both captain nd team management
Magneto Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 my point was if someone is going to replace mathews it will not be tamim' date=':icflove:[/quote'] Your options are Clarke (after a fortnight), Samuels and Tamim.

Tamim is essentially a 30-40 odd player (in this format) in a good day.
achilles Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Both captains? he meant both captain nd team management I meant, the skip last year (Yuvi) and this year (Dada). They hold him in high regard, although he has not lived up to his billings, ever since he was in RCB.

Tamim is essentially a 30-40 odd player (in this format) in a good day. He won us 2 matches. And he played well. But then, he is inconsistent and a terrible runner and not a good bowler too. Fielding is okay. There is no harm in trying Tamim.

Dropping a guy who's won half your matches just for trying out someone else makes little cricketing sense.

And Tamim is not the only player sitting on the bench.

Dropping a guy who's won half your matches just for trying out someone else makes little cricketing sense. No offense meant, but he's won us simply 2 games in 2 seasons. And lets not even get started about his performances for RCB. He's stringing along good scores but it will be interesting to see how he fares over the entire IPL. If he develops the consistency of Shaun Marsh, I have no doubt he'll be the next millionaire at the IPL auction. Otherwise, he would be the next epic waste of money like his opening partner - Robin Uthappa.
King Khan Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 I'm waiting for Clarky & Tamim for some action, along with Ryder, Saurav, Uthappa PWI will be shown as best batting order in IPL5.
bulbul Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 every1 was laughing at seve smith. isnt he performing? and luke wright is well known performer in t20 as well Thats the point both Thomas and Right have performed well in multiple leaugyes and can bat abd bowl besides decent feilders.. All Tamim have is performance in BPL (i dont know how good or whether he played there) besides Tamim is opener as of now PW opening is settled for some matches so where does Tamim will fit..
GautiMaan Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Tamim has a pathetic T20 strike rate, ryder is in a different league altogether and yes matthews should be dropped

bulbul Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 i said tamim along with luke. u were discarding both. look at op I am discarding Tamim only...once Clarke comes i guess they will open up one spot for him..just my guess
bangladeshifan Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 I am discarding Tamim only...once Clarke comes i guess they will open up one spot for him..just my guess hmm agreed. luke is a must next game. mathews shud be dropped. but my point stands. if u dont give a player 1/2 games u dont knw wat he can offerspecially players like tamim nd luke's caliber

Even Sakib cant find a place in KKR 11
straighttalk Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 thats wat it seems. but him along with luke should get some chances. like thomas u never knw they may perform better. and mathews shud be dropped immidiately after that 20 runs over. problem is tamim is inconsistent as his average and everything points out...if a player is dropped by bangladesh team..it says volume abt his ability. right now wright>tamim.
straighttalk Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 my point was if someone is going to replace mathews it will not be tamim' date=':icflove:[/quote'] plus one..it has to be wright or samuels depending on the pitch and the main bowlers..whether they want to strengthen spin or pace
