PCB invites proposals for T20 league

We have no fixed ideas, and are being open minded, but one thing we know is that we do not want a clone of the IPL or BPL. Our product won't resemble the conventional type of league and even the name won't be the Pakistan Premier League PPL

He also said that there are parties who have offered to bring in "foreign players as a part of their support to Pakistan

Already deal agreed with Hijackers and kidnappers to bring foreigners [read Afganis,Bradistanis,nigeria,kenya,uganda etc]

Let things be chalked out and then we will take the government on board at a higher level for the detailed security plan for the event

they are even ready to hire talibani's as security

They have talked about PPL every year everytime IPL comes around. Idiots. The only thing sadder than PCB are the pak fans that think this is actually a reality and make up wiki pages and include a Chinese team.

No sympathies as this is a direct consequence of their own inefficiency in handling their internal affairs but just as representatives of the same species, it is really sad to see how some people can descend so low and actually find mirth and satiation in that state.

laugh all you want. no one is expecting the league to emulate anyleague. the current domestic t20 is well attended and supported but lack of financial nous is failingto exploit this poplarity. with rite people and sponsors this league will be successful with or without international players. Asharaf has taken positive steps compared to the buffon ijaz butt to get pakistan cricket on table path.

If your T20 league is well attended, why are you finding it difficult to find sponsors? Is it televised too?

poor management, example players given less than $20 for match fee, lack coherence to tournament, and of course the perennial Mr 10% coming from all angles. but yes it was televised and live stream was also available free on youtube through geo sports.

How well is this going to be regulated though???I reab about an incident with either Shoaib Malik or Salman Butt not sure when they purposely lost a game or something to sabotage some other team's chances.... It may be a one-off but such incidents might just shy sponsors away unless you have some kind of corporate person running the show...don't know if this Ashraf guy can handle this

I think Pakistan can organise T20 league but should not even dream of competing with IPL or it will just go down the drain. look at bangladeh, they auctioned six teams and even though the highest price paid for the franchise was only $1.2 mil it was still a success. this is how cheap the franchise went for in BPL Pak can make 8 team tourney but spread it out around pak, itd be simple cause they have 8 admin units so make one team from each unit. send invite to all the foreign players including all the domestic players and see where it goes from there on....

Will be a big fail as far as daily physical attendances are concerned. Unless it's treated as a completely made-for-TV spectacle and actual crowds are plugged in using promotional ticket rates (read free tickets) just to make it look good. Also such a decision would need revenue sharing of whatever they get from TV and sponsorship with Dubai authorities, not to mention the difficulty in finding a suitable window as well. If they are not able to find a lucrative window (and that is a big big big ask in today's packed schedule), they will miss out on big names in the foreign players list and that'll have a direct impact on the revenue streams.

What a pathetic knowledge you have. Most of the big teams in IPL now earn around 30 crore through tickets. And their earning through TV rights is around 43 crores. So how is most of the money is from TV rights.
