apocalypse
just put the youtube URL in this site and it will download as AVI or MP3 or MP4 vixy.net and then when you download, you can convert it to any other format through this site media-converter.com all are free
ludhianvi
there's also a firefox extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2390 As apo mentioned, vixy.net is pretty good. Have had good experience with it as it automatically converts to .avi, mpeg, etc

apocalypse
which browser are you using?
apocalypse
Right next to the 'play button' is another symbol that looks kinda like a zipper. That's the download button and it is only possible to download when the DivX player is playing a video.

I just figured it out when I saw the site He mentioned a site which has embedded Divx Webplayer. So I asked him to do this. Open it in Firefox. Hope you use adblock plus plugin in firefox. when the movie is playing on the right hand corner there will be a block button highlighted. When you move your mouse over it, it will say "Click on this button to block this with Adblock Plus" Just right click on it and select "Copy Link Location" Now just paste it in a new tab in Firefox and press enter. It will ask you where to save

maggot_brain
The best video converter by far is Avidemux. Just google it. Youtube videos are in flv format which avidemux can handle well. Thing is for quite a lot of youtube (and the like) video you'll need to crop and/or adjust the aspect ratio as well as check the synchronisation of the audio. maggot_brain
Oh forgot to mention Avidemux doesn't do wmv but it does mp4 really well and nearly everything else as well.
apocalypse
Use this site Maggot www.media-convert.com It will convert from any format to any format you like for free
living
THE BEST SOLUTION is ..... REALPLAYER the new version has this "download video" add-on that appears right next to every video online. Just click on it and voila!! Plus it applied to ALL videos online flash and other formats as well.
