coffee_rules
Always in trouble for indiscipline. When will this bad boy grow up? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shoaib Akhtar fined for misconduct August 08, 2007 19:21 IST Pakistan's controversial fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar [Images] has been fined $5,000 for two breaches of the players' code of conduct. Pakistan Cricket Board chief executive Shafqat Nagmi told a news conference on Wednesday that Akhtar had left a training camp in Karachi last Saturday without informing the team management. "He left the camp without permission. Today also he was asked to appear before the disciplinary committee of the board but he didn't show up," Nagmi said. "He has also been docked 1.5 points from the total of 20 points available to the players for discipline in their central contracts." Akhtar, 31, who has returned to the team for the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa after playing just one Test and four one-dayers in the last 15 months due to fitness problems, left the camp complaining of a neck strain. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What's with the point system? Something like the driving violations in U.S? Can't believe that the board has to discipline it's players in such a juvenile fashion? At this rate, 20 points will be over by the end of the year... MundaPakistani
Good to see him fined! The fact is that now for almost 2 years he has been a total waste of space and has contributed nothing other than embarassment. It's about time that he does something right. Link to comment
King
I have always said he is just a waste of space despite his ability. If one is not even keen playing the sport and only does it for show it doesn't help the individual nor the team in the long run. I've never see the hunger to play the sport in Shoaib. Link to comment
