Prakat Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Anonymous Operation India members said that they hacked into Reliance servers and obtained a list of all government blocked websites, as well as links to sites that have been blocked by Reliance, including links to search results and blogs on a Satish Seth. The speaker also accused the media of maintaining silence and not covering leaks of lists of websites, and accused the ISP of unblocking websites only to block them again. They said that they hacked into BIGCinema, and shared documents with ticket scans, also claimed that they had access to Credit Card information, but chose not to disclose it in order to protect users. AnonOps India has also planned a protest for June 9th 2012, asking citizens to protest these blocks by wearing a mask. In addition, they mentioned that facebook pages of protesting Air India staff had also been blocked. Here's the list of sites blocked by Reliance. http://pastehtml.com/view/bz8kycy0o.html

When we started to speak truth, the government of India forced our online twitter account @Opindia_revenge to be suspended.”
Lurker Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Not trying to be cynical here but has anytime anything good came out of this whole Anonymous saga? They seem to be a bunch of weirdos who all day long keep trying to hack websites behind the safety of their computers. I was really interested when they were up against the Mexican mafia hacking into their Bank Accounts, drug paths etc. Well turns out Mexican Mafia put the fear of death in them and they are back to hacking Reliance websites etc and thumping chest at GOI.
ganeshran Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Anonymous isnt a structured organization. It is more of an umbrella federation based of loosely connected hacker groups. Its most likely that the ones hacking RCom have no connection with the ones involved against the drug cartels in Mexico. Even in Anon India, the first legit hack was done against Rcom to get the list of blocked sites. this was the first time the website was compromised. The attacks against the Congress and Supreme court website were ddos attacks and just brought down the websites for a couple of hours
StriKe Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 I was on their IRC channel and they failed to bring down ipl site because it was hosted on a cloud servers and they don't have much users behind opindia to ddos most of the sites so it might fail.
ganeshran Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 ddos isnt really hacking, its just what its name suggests - denial of service. The site is down for the amount of time it takes to restart a server. With most sites being hosted on the cloud or on distributed servers, the impact from ddos isnt really that high except for some hackers to prove a point. The hack is commendable when they are able to compromise the security and either steal data or deface the site with their message.
