Sundar88 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 8-0 wasn't Dhoni's fault. We simply don't have the bowling to win in Aus, Eng and SA. Usually our batting is decent enough to at least draw a few matches or even win a game occasionally but last year even our batting failed. His captaincy wasn't great but it definitely wasn't the reason why we got raped. Given how Viru and GG have played against Hilfenhaus in this IPL I'm starting to think we're going to lose at home too.
Ultimate_Game Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 8-0? Even a cross between Brearly, Border, Taylor, Lloyd wouldn't have stopped the 8-0 whitewash. Sure, Dhoni was a bit defensive but the blame has to go on our batsmen. They did jack-shyte getting bowled out for sub-200 under 60 overs time and again in Eng & Aus. Likes of Laxman, SRT, Dravid (in Aus), Sehwag & Gambhir should shoulder most of the blame. No captain can win or even draw a game when the team can't even score 200 consistently.
superstar Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Gambir + shewag vs Dhoni ego was what caused the 8-0 whitewash.
karanc666 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 OH PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE tamasha khatam huwa, real kirkut shuru sacchi
Shunya Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 8-0? yes man even after 8-0 ...dhoni is still the best bet... when we get the balls to drop the old and unfit players from the team...result might start coming in our favour...
Number Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 those who are saying Gambhir coulnd't handle Hilfenhaus in IPL. Check how Gambhir tonked Hilfenhaus in the last game of CSK and KKR. Of course he didn't do well in Australia.
Ultimate_Game Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Drop Laxman & SRT, bring in likes of Rohit, Rahane & Pujara and put Sehwag on notice with Mukund on the sidelines and you will see the team perform well under Dhoni. When the team has 4 pensioners in the team who can neither bat nor field any team and captain would struggle.
superstar Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Rohit does not deserve a Indian cap. Enough chances has been given for that lazy fellow. Ashwin is another guy going down the route. His waste line and attitude has increased considerabley over the past year. Agree time for SRT to leave. Everyone keeps praising his runout against CSK. He lost the Asia cup for India and no one mentions that.

They both need to be given a longer run in the Test team and I am willing to bet that a batting order of Kohli, Rohit, Rahane and Pujara will be fine in the future. As for SRT & Asia Cup there were multiple threads here regarding the same :giggle:

No one has the guts to go to him and say we lost the match because of him. Everyone is busy congratulating him for the 100th 100. Rohit is lazy and does not have the right attitude. Wrong player to invest.

Rohit deserves to be given a run in the Test team. His best format is Tests and it will be grossly unfair to him to be dropped without even giving him a run with the team in Tests. I am willing to bet he will be a success in Tests if he's backed by the selectors.
MCcricket Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 It is time for Dhoni to go, short of ideas , his wait and watch approach only works on slow low wickets, also bad with bowlers, picking up the right eleven, batting not good enough against good bowlers especially in test,we need a change after the debacle.
nospam Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Dhoni retirement rumors on twitter ... https://twitter.com/#!/search/dhoni%20retiring Talk in UK is that MSD retiring ? Can't be right ! Win some you lose some It's sport! https://twitter.com/#!/BumbleCricket/status/206849786731704320
Needforspeed Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Dhoni should go after maybe one year...Then Kohli may takeover. Even the selectors seem to feel that Gambhir is not the right choice. KKR has a very strong team. Till this year they performed below potential. This year the Narine mystry did the trick for them.
Sidhoni Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Oh please! You wanna make him the captain based on IPL?
yoda Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 A captain is only as good as his team. So why Gauti? :winky:

Rohit may also come good but lower down the order. Cheteshwara Pujara is another play who should be part of the Test team setup.
