Number Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 :facepalm: at those who doubt his commitment to the national team. It would have been 8-0 in CB series as well is he hadn't done the work there. In all the games won , he played a big role. Even in that tied game he left us in a good position before cool Dhoni and his favourite boy Jaddu messed it up.

I am tried of listening that now. That match was tied only because of MSd. If he was not there, we would have lost it. Getting 3 runs off the final ball off the finest death bowler in the world is not a child's play.

The stuff he has achieved as captain is unparalleled in Indian cricket and will probably remain that way for a long time. 8-0 has more to do with the failure of the batting stars and the pathetic bowling attack we have. Terrible thing is there is no talk of major changes in our lineup even after the defeat. Sachin(on search for 200 centuries), Laxman(needs a walking stick), Sehwag(brain fart master), Zaheer(unfit for 360 days a year), Ishant(forever learning, "unlucky" phasst bowler) will continue to be in the team.

Dhoni is also a reason for failure but not fair just to blame him alone. The team failed as a whole. Even when India was No.1, the credit went to the team as well as Dhoni.

No they are not equally responsible. Captain is more responsible than others. Captain has more powers than naybody else in making a decision, sohe should be more responsible also.

Losing 8-0 is not the result of a few bad decisions by the captain. The team performed miserably as a whole and they all have to take the blame. Just making the captain a scapegoat is taking the easy way out and doesnt do anything to solve the problem which is the deteriorating ability of the senior batsmen in foreign conditions and lack of wicket taking ability of our pacers.

Just making the captain a scapegoat is taking the easy way out and doesnt do anything to solve the problem which is the deteriorating ability of the senior batsmen in foreign conditions and lack of wicket taking ability of our pacers. Dhoni cannot bat outside India in Tests. It is a proven fact. He goes into press conferences saying he doesn't see himself playing Tests or the World Cup after 2 yrs. What is the point of having his as a captain then? Groom someone for the future! How about India doing a South Africa and placing responsibility on the young shoulders of Virat Kohli perhaps?

It is not like he made poor selection choices, or did poor bowling changes or fielding choices. The batsman failed and the bowlers failed, period.

I'm sorry but Gambhir and Dhoni aren't even in the same league in Tests. Even Dhoni fans will concede that. Kohli is a bit of a chilled out version of Smith. Have you seen Smith in his early days? Profanity was his best friend. And Kohli has always been a good leader. He won us a World Cup with simply 160 odd on board. He has done a good job for RCB too. I don't see anyone in the team who is even a contender.
