BJP has little presence anyway in TN, so it suits her to contest alone and keep options open post election. Unless NDA has a PM that adds votes for her, she has nothing to gain with going with BJP pre poll. But post poll she will come on board if BJP itself gets good numbers.

Ya JJ wont hand over a single seat to BJP pre poll. Post poll alliances suit her much better.
The "mummy" returns?

Party general secretary Digvijaya Singh told NDTV, "The Congress party does not declare the PM candidate because we don't want to take away the right of newly-elected legislators to choose their leader. This is basic in parliamentary democracy. Therefore, we don't declare our leaders for PM candidate." In Jaipur, senior Congress leader and minister Jairam Ramesh said in India elections were not a contest between people, but between parties. "2014 will not be a contest between Modi and Rahul. It's always party versus party," he said.

Wait' date=' what ? You'd rather see the population explode, widespread malnutrition and rotting foodgrains along with [b']TWO MILLION STARVATION RELATED DEATHS EVERY YEAR in the name of real or mythical secularism ? You Sir, are a Congressi :hatsoff:
Yes because BJP in power managed to solve all these issues. Please look at some of Congress policies of improving condition of poor Indian farmers under this UPA and not just look at the growth in Industries and businessmen like in the case of Gujrat BTW, if the country itself breaks into a 100 pieces then there is no point of talking about poor and starving, is there?

But how long was the BJP in power ? How did we get to the current state of affairs after 65+ years of independence ? Who held the power more than 3/4th of the time ? I'm not a BJP bhakt, I have voted for Congress earlier in a state election and will not rule that out in the future. But you have to hold the politicians & their parties responsible for their failures.
BTW, if the country itself breaks into a 100 pieces then there is no point of talking about poor and starving, is there?
That's a pathetic argument. You mean to say that the BJP's radical saffron policies, IF & WHEN they are implemented, will lead to 100 pieices of India despite 80% of the population being so called saffron ? Coming back to reality, the Congress has its own divisive policies on the lines of reservation & sickularism. Besides that, the #1 internal threat is naxalism, not saffron or green terror. You can absolve the Congress of its responsibilities in that case as well while it held power across the decades.

Delusions of grandeur? BJP has never even managed to get 40% of the vote' date=' 80% kahan se aa gaya?[/quote'] What was the original point ? That India will be divided into multiple pieces due to the hindutvavadis (as per M2C). Does that make sense when 80% of the country is in theory hindu (not pro-bjp) ? You see the logical fallacy here ?

Being Hindu is not equivalent to being saffron as you were implying.

So called by whom?
By the padosis. Look, my point is India ~ 80% hindu. A saffron party in power doesn't mean India will be torn apart since the side they claim to represent is the vast majority. The BJP & Congress both have their vote bank policies which are divisive, some more than the other depending on who you ask.

In a discussion on Modi and Indian politics with Indians, how relevant is 80% India being called saffron by padosis? I don't feel it's relevant at all. What BJP claims to represent is very different from what they actually represent. Outside a number of states in single digits, maybe a bit more, no has ever given a damn about the BJP. At least Congress can lay claim to being a relevant political entity in the vast majority of the country at some point if not today. And yes, India can be torn apart if it replicates '84 and '02 irrespective of which party does it.

The terms "Hindu terrorism" and "saffron terrorism" are used equivalently by the Congress leaders.
Logical fallacy. Using Hindu terrorism and Saffron terrorism equivalently does not imply using Hindu and Saffron equivalently.

:hysterical: Do you which states have the highest number of farmer suicides? Hint: Maharashtra is not ruled by BJP. Gujarat on the other hand has consistently recorded among the highest agricultural growth rates in India since Modi took office. Its irrigation and rural power schemes (for example the feeder separation) have been praised even by the planning commission.

I never claimed it did. But those who do use those terms, imply that Hindu is "so called Saffron" i.e. viewed from a certain perspective.

Hindu and "so called Saffron".

Yeah Hindu and so called Saffron. I've never heard any mainstream Congress leader use Hindu and Saffron equivalently maybe Hindu terrorism and Saffron terrorism but that's about as relevant to the discussion as the price of gas.
