For the record, I just watch the news channels, Zoom TV for Bolly gossip :D, MTV/ Channel V/ B4U music, and the Travel and Living channel. I hate all sorts of soaps and all/any multi-episode serials, but still, I got infected couple of times. The last desi-soap (by my free-will) I watched was - Shanti (mid 90s!!!) - just because it used to coincide with my timing to come back from school and having late-lunch. I must be excused here, as I was just a kid, and we had only 1TV, and it was the time my mom also would've finished up house chores, and in relaxing mode. And Shanti wasn't all that bad (again my judgement must be excused for me being an adolescent (waking up to new hormones - clue ... young/nubile Iravati Harshe and Mandira Bedi !!!)) I managed to stay scotfree from desi-soaps for many many years to follow...........until one of my recent female friend, who was hooked to storyline of some sh!tty star-soap ('Uttaran').. just because she did not understand Hindi too well, and would ask me to translate.....Even though I hated it so much, I had to comply. And slowly, subconsciously, I was also hooked for almost a year.. - just to see what would happen next. Even though I could predict the story line with 99.99...% accuracy, I continued watching just to validate my predictions. Thanks to the producers/writers of the serial, they made some timeline leap in the story and I woke up in time. [i must be given due credit to resist the temptations to download&watch the likes of Lost, Game of Thrones etc...]

Forget these saas-bahu serials I could not watch Prison Break beyond 2 episodes. Nothing against it, it seems interesting but I just don't have the patience to sit through the entire series. I don't mind sitcoms though.

There is a demand for these shows, that's why they exist.

The program sucks ass.. its quite pathetic Here is what I find tolerable : * Zoom tv songs till they get into the mode of showing 5 selected trailers every 5 mins * Indian idol - its nice as one gets to see young talent.. some of these guys are almost as good as professional singers .. BTW Anu is the worst singer ever * 9xm - nice/fun to watch - shame its not on roku .. only 9x jalwa which plays songs from 80s * NDTV - its way better than Times Now, I cant believe that there are people who listen to Arnab's crap everyday. That guy is angry Unfortunately/fortunately We dont get many channels in the US legally or on Roku so the choice is limited but still I dont mind watching the ones I mentioned above
