So your opinion of a cricketer is based on what his fans say? Fans talk up their player. Happens with every player.
+Media, experts,allthough they change their tunes frequently but masses believe them.Which other country a captain would survive 2 whitewashes ?

Yes, captaincy alone didn't win the WC but it played a big part. If anyone could captain a team to WC wins I wonder how come we didn't win anything since 83 and it was under Dhoni we won 2 WCs :hmmm: As for guys who think captain is as good as the team, try putting the same team under Tendulkar or Sehwag and see the difference :giggle:

You are under-estimating viru. From whatever little i have seen of him , he is one of the dumbest captain we have had. We would not have even reached semi final with him as a captain.

That is dumb.. India winning a world cup in India .. how much bigger it can get. He could have run naked and got away. It takes great leadership quality to stand back and let the team cherish it. He backs his players and inspires them to do well. Never under-estimate Dhoniconda

But its not used as an attribute to show how good he is.its used to ridicule him.dhoni is a very shrewd man .I used to be a dhoni fan myself wanting him to be best wk batsman in all formats.but the way he has handled the indian team and all this mess we are in currently.i cannot say a good word for him.

His test captaincy record is very poor abroad. No one questions despite the fact India got to No.1 position in Tests. But in limited overs he is very good. He has his own flaws like rigid team selection. He is not flawless. But he is more effective than others.

Problem is his odi captaincy and form are being used as a shield for his test captaincy.which captain except bang or zim captain could survive two white washes.

which match? the one where he made 219?
first few matches i think.they got away in the end to post 260 or 270.but he kept field in and looked for wickets.
