Sree had the shoulder problem first in 2007 and has been down with the same injury time and again in the last 4-5 years. One shoulder surgery, being out of action for 6-7 months, a proper rehab and he could well have played on for much longer than he has in the last 4 years. How do you know though surgery was needed? That depends on an appropriate examination by an orthopaedic surgeon. A lot of the time conservative management and steroid injections are enough. A lot of shoulder issues are chronic, regardless of surgery or not. Ryan Harris had had hip and knee operations but the problems persist. Surgery is not a cure.

Even for the toe, he was recommended a surgery, but went against medical advice. Its the toe today, will be a finger tomorrow and then the neck afterwards. His career is as good as over and he knows it well . Didn't you post something on this thread which said the toe injury may mean Sree would have to focus on his TV and film career. Thats where he is headed to right now.

Thats where he is headed to right now. Sree said the toe injury may end his career early on, and now he is optimistic of comeback. I think he was just trying to highlight how bad the injury is. If I knew the medical name of his toe injury it might make more sense.

With Zaheer, fitness was not an issue till he was 30, Sree has had a terrible fitness record ever since 2007. Also while Zaheer was mediocre in tests, he was always brilliant in ODIs and had a much better first class record. Sree on the other hand has had a terrible record not just in tests but even in first class cricket, despite mostly playing in the plate league. Talent wise, maybe he is the best Indian seamer in the last 10-20 years, but talent without discipline means nothing and unfortunately Sree has shown no signs f getting the much needed discipline into his bowling. Everytime he has comeback from an injury, his fitness has looked suspect, stamina has gone down and obviously he has lacked consistency. Not too long, there were many on the forum who used to root for Sree to tun it around, but the last 12 months have been so disappointing, that people have given up now. When I saw the other two I just saw 2 fat midgets who are very good at cricket but nothing else. Sree has devoted his life to life itself!

Sree already has experience of tasting T20 and ODI world cup glory as well as helping India reach number 1 in tests. On top of this he is an aggressive warrior leader and will command respect. At the same time he is very easy to talk to about on field and off field issues. Has plenty of wisdom on life in general. Sree for Captain for 2015 world cup :yay:
