NareshK Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Kinda agree with that observation. I feel Dhoni betrayed him in a way by encouraging all of Bhajji and the Delhi boyz' antics whereas criticize in public whatever Sreesanth did. Here is where I think some seniors like Rahul, Lax, Sachin should have taken Sreesanth under their wings and guided him. The whole set up kinda betrayed him whereas they took Bhajji back in to the fold with open arms after his ban from the IPL post the incident. They should've known that Sreesanth unlike his competitor Ishant is a match winner when he is in form and they should've been sensitive to his childishness and guided him better. They should have stood by him. The whole team needs to be blamed but more so Dhoni They have given him enough support and guidance. The fact is he had potential but he was just not good enough. He had a fair share of chances and he squandered them and he got himself to blame. The "slapgate" incident or his supposed bad relationship with Dhoni has nothing to do with it.

Vijay.Sharma Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 They have given him enough support and guidance. The fact is he had potential but he was just not good enough. He had a fair share of chances and he squandered them and he got himself to blame. The "slapgate" incident or his supposed bad relationship with Dhoni has nothing to do with it.It has more to do with it than you can imagine. Here's an analogy - if you are a working man and have a boss to whom you report. It dunn matter how talented you are or how greatly intelligent you are but the moment your boss starts criticizing your actions, your work, your childishness in public trust me you will become useless at your job within no time. In case you are a Manager and have people reporting to you, you would very easily understand how much influence your actions have on your sub-ordinates performance.
CSK Fan Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Yuvraj,Bhajji also have shaken a leg many times and regarding his attitude he does train at nca unlike some who do not after being dropped.,Fact is if you have a captain who after you win a test in 2nd innings in sa and then take a five fer in the next match blasts you in front of media instead of supporting you will hammer morale of any bowler and the same captain now stand for players like kohli and ishant showing fingers and abusing on and off field and jadeja going to english dressing room after the odi series and abusing to pk abusing umpires ,so if this is not double standards what is . His fitness has gone down surely, also after 2010 he averges 55 but stats do not tell the whole story he came back on flat surface against srilanka and did well and won us a test when we were struggling ,then he did well agianst aus on a flat surface ,he had a good sa tour apart from 1st tests match . Dude I was replying specifically to the point that his performance is affected by media and fans and he gets self concious. On the contrary he is a media ***** and loves the attention
Dravid_TheWall Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 Because Dhoni thinks he bowls good line and length and does not give runs and takes wickets but that is not the case. Why are you even on this thread, you have no credibility and definitely not a "pace expert" as like to think :giggle: Your comments on my old "Drop Ishant Sharma" thread provide good comedy value. Everytime I want to laugh I read that thread :haha:
Dravid_TheWall Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 For those who watch football, probably Sree is a similar case as Mario Balotelli. Really has good skills, likable, and also a bit mental. If only he was a winner more consistency, people would actually be praising his attitude for being a passionable committed cricket player. Not sure if like Balotelli but definitely I see where you are coming from. I like that analysis of Sree. :hatsoff:

Dravid_TheWall Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 Bro' date=' ishant is not that bad ,he like sree has potential but we need somebody to mentor them and solve their technical problems.[/quote'] I agree with you on a lot of things but not on this one. Ishant is beyond technical help. People always talk about a bowler having the "ingredients" to succeed. But Ishant may have height, pace, bounce e.t.c but he is coming up to his 50th test. He is aware of his limitations, sure he thinks of this everyday, he could have consulted anyone to help him. He probably has asked for help. He has failed and should be dropped. In that time out if he consults someone and they can help him fair enough, but we can't carry a journeyman in the indian team, we are struggling as it is. I want a few heads to roll after this series. Some people really need to go. Ishant, VK, Laxman and Viru, Kohli should all be dropped from the test team. Sack Flether too. P.S-I don't think he is like Sree. Sree can remove top class top order batsmen, I have never seen Ishant do this despite a consistent uninterrupted run in 4 years. Ishant did do well in one Aus tour but he had ample support. When Sreesanth is in full flow, everyone else is a spectator including the bowler bowling from the other end. He can single handedly change the game. He has that fear factor and opposition are aware how he can change the game. He doesn't need to bowl very accurately in test because he can produce some real gems which are too good for most batsmen. This is why we need him back.

Ishant has also done well against top class batsman during 2008 - 2010 when he had the inswinger ,He had a mos in india against australia and did well against sa too and troubled kallis and got him and boucher ,His problem is his swing which i have mentioned in my other thread with some video footage,He needs time out the team to work and sort his flaws as our bowling coach is unable to do so.

I admit he was able to get some seam movement but he said himself he didn't know how he did it. He doesn't swing it. He gets movement with seam more. He should try and use the angles of the crease. But tbh he should do this all in domestic, not waste our time and his playing for India.

Must be relieved he isn't tainting his reputation by playing this series. This series will end some careers or at least some players will get dropped for a long time.

Dravid_TheWall Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 ^^ Maybe some swing there but I swear he is bowling wide of the crease and angling it in with his action. The bounce is what is screwing up ponting there. Genuine swing looks different to me, like Steyn, PK, Anderson and Sree. Has a different shape and seam position.
Old guy Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 lol thats swing... its in swing so looks diff
Dravid_TheWall Posted January 14, 2012 Author Posted January 14, 2012 lol thats swing... its in swing so looks diff I don't doubt there is swing but bowling from wide of the crease helps anyone bring it in that much. Even Bopara bowling in the ODI's was bowling wide of the crease which created illusion of swing. I would like to see how bowling with normal angle how much swing there is there. He is not a genuine classical swing bowler in action or seam position.

But for me, it was his awkward bounce which got him wickets early on. Some would straighten makiing it even harder.
