Crookbond Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Please change title of the thread to reflect that Boucher has retired.
Crookbond Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 December 30, 1999 Mark Boucher of South Africa celebrates his century in frony of Gary Kirsten during the third test match at Kingsmead in Durban, South Africa. King Tendulkar Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 To be honest over rated. Decent keeper no more, never kept to any decent spinner standing up but not all that when standing up, Batting was gutsy but no more. Used to fail loads and no class in batting. Loyal and determined servant for SA so kudos there.

Did you watch him from 1997 to 2004.. he was class and it was not his mistake that Saffers didnot have a decent spinner. He kept pretty well against most bowlers and set the standards very high and for a long time.

Cricket Tragic Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Unrelated but does anyone remember the 96/97 tour when Dave Richardson stumped Venky Prasad in Cape Town? The guy was on top of the world and it wasn't because they won the test but because it was his first stumping in tests and he made his debut in 1992!

King Tendulkar Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 The actual sa team will be stronger for his abscence as de villiers is as good with gloves as boucher but miles better batter. Thus they can now add extra batsman
maverick451 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I didnt realise the injury was so bad he could lose his sight, its sad to see him go home in this way.
