JaFanatic Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Wow you guys know much things about our under 19 players:hatsoff:
Old guy Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 As I said earlier this is u-19 world cup of the only sport we take seriously or play with any competence. It's not too much to ask for the team to do decently well' date=' i.e. at least make it to knockouts past minnows. If BCCI doesn't take it seriously then don't send the team to the World Cup. Simple. But if you are sending an Indian team to the World Cup I would expect them to take it seriously and have a certain expectation from the team. I was fine with them losing to WI but come on, against Zimboks surely it's not too much to expect the Indian team to win the match easily.[/quote'] they havent lost match..just struggled in middle phase they are under 19 for gods sake.. its hard to get suited to new conditions ask english r aussie player to tour india under 19 they wont score 200 they are still developing in cricket onditions play big big role.. and at this level it plays even bigger role and abt zimbabwe bro if every time we are expected to score 300 against them then no point in playing is it ?
Old guy Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I was actually blaming the coach, not Chand. Surely the coach has more say than the captain in under age tourneys and the coach will have more info about the players than say the other players. Then that's another one against the think-tank or the coach. If Zol can't hit out then he shouldn't have been saved till 40th over. Maybe Passi and other sloggers should have been promoted up the order. arre yar.. he can hit out he is more like how kohli was at this level good solid batsman who if gets set can hit out will kohli succeed at no 5-6 ? i think u know the answer even better example will be gauti he is similar to him good solid accumulator play him at top with chand there its good solid top order and then rest can slog all teams are like this at htis level
GautiMaan Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Have they learnt from the last match?Any pacers playing?
Old guy Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Wow you guys know much things about our under 19 players:hatsoff: there were plenty of tournaments in last year and i followed them team is not bad at all this time jsut there is too much hype.. and we are forgetting the main reason why this tournament is played
Ultimate_Game Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 they havent lost match..just struggled in middle phase they are under 19 for gods sake.. its hard to get suited to new conditions ask english r aussie player to tour india under 19 they wont score 200 they are still developing in cricket onditions play big big role.. and at this level it plays even bigger role and abt zimbabwe bro if every time we are expected to score 300 against them then no point in playing is it ? Nope I don't expect them to score 300 everytime, but is it too much to ask for the team to bat out the opponent when they are positioned at 139/0 in 26 overs? I mean is a score of 280 from that point unrealistic? We had to rely on a 5 ball 24 from a tail-ender to get to 260 else we would have scored 240 from 50 overs after being 139/0 in 26 overs. Surely that sort of a performance deserves some criticism, doesn't it?
Ultimate_Game Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Have they learnt from the last match?Any pacers playing? There are 3 medium pacers this game in Sandeep Sharma, Ravikant Singh and Kamal Passi. Rush kalaria was dropped for this game but the problem is we don't have an out and out pace bowler. Sandeep Singh is our fastest and he's at most brisk medium.
jind Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Have they learnt from the last match?Any pacers playing? 3 pacers for this game...however, this looks like a much better pitch to bat on. Kalaria the pacer and Harmeet the spinner have been dropped.. Passi and Ravikant come in their place

Old guy Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 yea and U_G doesn like losing at all he's a bit more passionate than us i dont mind losing only thing which makes me mad is the attitude of some of the guys in senior team after losing..and honestly these guys are not like it even in last game they fought and played out 50 overs and didnt do badly with ball so im happy
Ultimate_Game Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 we got to 260 right ? :P nz got out under 200 :giggle: calm down atleast let this tournment finish .. msot of guys there are even younger then me :hysterical: this team has whown they are bad starters no need to have over reactions already :wall: save them for test series im having a bad feeling tht we are gonna get pawned :P I don't care about how NZ does and frankly we have a problem if we are comparing ourselves to NZ. As I said earlier it's not about the final score but the performance in general. We should win this game but the way we struggled in the middle overs deserves criticism.

Ultimate_Game Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 yep and i think thisi s where our system really fails development of pacers before the first class level..his is where australians are so good BCCI needs to invest in developing fast bowlers else we will struggle to be one of the better teams, and won't do much outside of sub-continent. It's clear MRF pace academy and NCA haven't done much for our fast bowling and it's time to reboot and restart.

Ultimate_Game Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 if we even just keep care of fast bowlers we do find we will do all right but selecting guys like vinny does not help Vinny and likes of him are just the symptom and not root cause. The main problem is we have no support system in place for our upcoming pacers. When MRF pace academy & NCA couldn't even manage somebody like Zaheer properly and couldn't do jack shyte to turn him around which county cricket was able to do, then it's clear our system needs to be overhauled.

At the moment I doubt BCCI really cares about anything other than IPL A decent pace academy for managing and grooming upcoming pacers with right mentors and proper coaching/training setup can do wonders for us but it will take time, money and commitment from BCCI. I suspect they will fall short in all 3 respects :((
