Rajiv Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 My Folks have US Visit Vsa since 1980, renewing via Drop Box for 10 year Multiple and now things have changed, so we have to apply online. It took me almost 45 mins to figure our my parents last 5 US visits with exact dates But there is a section with these following questions? tell me this is not a joke? :haha::haha: Do you seek to engage in espionage, sabotage, export control violations, or any other illegal activity while in the United States? Yes No Do you seek to engage in terrorist activities while in the United States or have you ever engaged in terrorist activities? Error Yes No Have you ever or do you intend to provide financial assistance or other support to terrorists or terrorist organizations? Error Yes No Are you a member or representative of a terrorist organization? Error Yes No
nikred Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 ^ That would be illegal question to ask. yeah and totally irrelevant. Now, "Are you Chinese?" is a relevant question. :vroam:
Rajiv Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 My point is, what kinda of question are these in a US visit visa form, will someone in their right mind tick "yes", I plan to blow up etc, please give me a US visa
Crookbond Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Such questions were present on the UK Visa form too. Do they outright reject such applications ? I don't think so. I know of one person who had a criminal record and was granted a US visa. The questionnaire seems more on the lines of evaluating honesty and spending minimal time on background checks.
Rajiv Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 Criminal Record ( DUI, Misdemeanor, ) is pretty normal as you can request pardon but will anyone pick YES to terrorist activity and be welcome What does one really expect to check in Do you seek to engage in terrorist activities while in the United States or have you ever engaged in terrorist activities? Seriously BTW, there were 20-25 such similar questions
Crookbond Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I get your point Rajiv. I was only responding to the other questions which may have some rationale. Currently, I'm not sure how it is helpIng them but it would be interesting to hear their side of the story.
asterix Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 By law, you need to let people know, on what grounds your application could be rejected and if you are caught in future, it can be cross checked whether you made any false declarations or not while seeking entry...
Rajiv Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 I was noticing some forums where Pakistanis have applied for Canadian TOURIST visas ( inside Pak or USA ), they have to wait almost 1-2 months. They get extra screening, i was wondering so much for help with war on terror, they get screwed upside down

Heck for schengen, they need to wait for 60 days.
