Here are the fastest to 1000,2000,3000,4000 stats and I am surprised to see so few modern day greats in the list. You need to be rigorous in statistical analysis. You can't just do a cause/effect relationship and conclude on results.

This is not a Conclusion or an analysis....May be you guys can add more value to the analysis part.....If you just take a glance at,it looks there aren't too many Modern day players in the top 10-Top 20, So it is more of a question wether if this could be used as a basis to further dig deep to question some theories that have come up in debates on these forums like Fast bowlers regressing and pitches becoming flatter.

The same statistics wil be presented & blindly concluded. Before you go into any of such comparisons, you need to decide parameters on how you will compare. These parameters are not easy to come up with and hence, you will have flawed conclusions. i have seen the likes of sachin dravid ganguly struggle to chase 120 against walsh/ambrose and company and now someone like rohit sharma pummels the same nation and gets two back to back man of the series against them .now my question is are you even watching the same sport bro?? after the retirement of wasim waqar, macgrath warne gillispie, murli vaas, walsh ambrose in the last decade the standard of bowling has plummeted, some of the batmen had record breaking years (scoring 1000 runs in back to back years) post these guys retirement.

2000-2009 pitches were flatter than it was in the previous two decades .. now its more even.. we are even seeing results in UAE and Sri Lanka .. countries known to produce the flattest wickets .. but yeah the batsmen feasted in the first decade of the new millenium but 70s-90s the pitches were more often than not pretty even for both batting and bowling esp. outside sub-continents. But in the 2000- 2008 era pitches in England and Australia also looked flatter than they were known. It was said that Perth pitch renowned for its bounce had lost its pace but I guess last 2 years have been better.
