The most interesting part is that there has rarely been an obese player taking fast bowling and playing Test Cricket. It always wonders me, whether he had good pace to get into Australian side, or were the bowling resources so bad back then that they had Merv and McDermott only.

He was nippy and relied on swing and seam rather than pace. He had that gritty Aussie attitude which got him a lot of wickets against the Poms. He was definitely not a trundler. Boon, Gatting, Arjuna, Big Merv, Malhotra...man I miss those frames in cricket. This is why cricket was an equal opportunity employer. I think it still is with Jesse, Leverock, Samit, and Powar plying the trade. I wouldn't want it any other way. I am all for diversity at the work place
