never saw such biased selector....mukund dinesh kartik murali vijay badrinath balaji ashwin everyone got chance after chance but never give uthappa continuous chances....not a single chance in odi...such a waste fellow srikkanth is..:whack:

To be fair to him all these players did deserve a chance. Murali Vijay looked good at the start but his selection in shorter formats was a bit perplexing. Badrinath deserved a run based on his FC stats but recalling him now after he struggled against the likes of Russell and Sammy simply doesn't make any sense. Mukund deserved a shot as well as based on stats he was the best opener we had. Dinesh Karthik was and is good - his only problem is shot selection and I would still want to see him as our backup wk in Tests. Balaji deserved T20 recall based on his IPL stats and Ashwin is our best spinner. So other than Badrinath and Murali Vijay's selections I wouldn't slate Srikkanth for TN selections. At the same time I do think Uthappa deserved a run in the shorter format, maybe as a backup wk and lower order batsman. He did reasonably well in Eng & Aus where he was made to open and occasionally asked to come in late. He played in tougher conditions and was moved all over the batting order. IMO he did deserve a run with the team at a settled position (maybe no. 6 or 7) or a series or two where Dhoni is rested and he's played as the wk-batsman.

its true that TN players performed in domestics but each player got chance....and everyone become captain of A team at some point of time...does it mean only chennai players are good as captain?considering avg of mukund in windies tour...how he can be captain and bist and dhawan gets dropped?

oh shut up..Each and every one had performed consistently and have very high avg in domestic cricket. Maybe we shouldnt select player based on performance, rather we should pick players on your biased stupid logic. Instead of concentrating on these players, who are either not in the side due to bad performance in international games or still in due to good performance, you should talk about players from delhi, mumbai and whever the fk jadeja is from that are still in the team after repeated failures.

He's like a bad dream' date=' lingering on.. :cantstop:[/quote'] :hysterical: Just when you thought you had seen the last of him Laxman decided to retire giving him one more chance to get his cronies into the team. I am still surprised as to how little was made out of his selection of his son and then explaining it by saying that the committee did not know which format they were picking the team for.

Please tell us about his son's stellar performances as well - the Chennai gang out to defend their Anna. :hysterical:

I wouldn't worry much about who's the captain of A team as long as we have likes of Mandeep in the team and don't have slections like Cheeka's son.

His son has a domestic average of 30. You call that high? Maybe you are high?
good for me?! I guess. But then again, prof, read the goddamn thing again and tell me where i have defended srikanth or the selection committee on their decision to select anirudh srikanth for whatever tour he was selected for.

Has been the bane of Indian cricket and something which is not likely to change in the future. GRV packed the side with Karnataka players in late 90s, Vengsarkar pushed the case of Mumbai players and Cheeka has done it for TN players. Don;t have any hopes of it changing when the new selection committee takes over.

So' date=' you agree Srikkanth was a biased and crap selector who by his own admission did not even know which format he was selecting the team for?[/quote'] My god!you can't accept that you were wrong, can you? For my views on selecting srikanth jnr, the search function would help you to find if i had commented on that on the thread discussing that. Since the OP was clearly talking about international selection of certain players, not one of whom is named srikanth, why would you think that that particular selection, which i had not talked about here, is something i was defending?
