cricket_usa Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Here you go again with the hypocrisy of the republicans. They want to keep the government out of everything except woman's body. This is what Rep Akin said in an interview on a St.Louis TV station Ūt seems to me, from what I understand from doctors, thatÃÔ really rare, Mr. Akin said of pregnancies from rape. Ūf itÃÔ a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. Redubs want us to believe that he miss spoke but in reality, he is just puking the same crap that his predecessors have spewed for years. So according this logic, can a rapist plead not guilty, if his victim becomes pregnant because it will not be a legitimate rape?
vvvslaxman Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 where is cricaddict .. :hysterical: Being a missourian this is all i hear on the radio . It is fun

Brainfade Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 where is cricaddict .. :hysterical: Being a missourian this is all i hear on the radio . It is fun He's an idiot. He's been forced out of the race. Idiots abound everywhere. What else is there to say? It pisses me off that he has given fodder to the idiots on the other side, as evidenced. As for abortions, I have articulated my opinion and rationale here several times and have no time to rehash.

Unless you have some insider news, Akin is still in the race. Lets wait till 5 PM today to see what he does. He is not just an Idiot, he is one of many Idiots in the GOP. Remember H.R. 3, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, cosponsored by Paul Ryan? The only dropped "Forced Rape" after huge public outcry.

It cuts off taxpayer funding for elective abortions. Big difference. The "forcible" terminology was idiotic, glad they took it out. To extend the discussion ... I have asked this question a dozen times on ICF, but have never gotten a response: Are you for PBAs?
cricket_usa Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 My personal view, I am not for any kind of abortion. Would I advise anyone to abort? NO, Would I do anything in my power, involving my family? YES. But I am not going to force my view on everyone. Its between the family and the doctors to decide what's best. Did you hear about the Girl in Domanica who died of Leukemia because the doctors were not able to treat her with Chemo because of the stupid abortion law? Weather its PBA or Morning After Pill it should be between the doctor and the woman and not some dopy lawmaker's twisted view.
yoda Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Repubs are a funny lot. They are the defenders of the constitution, yet they oppose Abortion which is ofc supported by the Constitution. Why? Cause the Bible says so. As for this Joker, he is not alone, the right wing is full of nut cases like him.

My knowledge in embryology tells me a new genetic human begins at conception. It is a judgment call between the new life and the woman's life. In cases of legitimate danger to the mother, or in case of rape/incest, the choice is difficult but understandable. I don't consider them elective abortions. I have a big problem with frivolous, *elective* abortions. Female feticide falls into this category. Should female feticide be legal if the family/mother chooses that she only wants a a boy and the doctor is ready to perform it? By your logic, it is a clear yes.

yoda Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 The constitution does not guarantee that taxpayers will pay for elective abortions. Does it? You and I know that who pays for abortion is hardly the topic, it is the fundamental right to choose vs so called life.
Brainfade Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 You and I know that who pays for abortion is hardly the topic' date=' it is the fundamental right to choose vs so called life.[/quote'] "So-called" life is the issue. At what point is "it" a life? Zygote? Embryo? 6 weeks when you can see a heartbeat? A few months when you can determine gender? 9 months? What about preemies? With my biology hat on, the only legitimate argument is at the point of conception. Then it becomes a choice between 2 lives. Does the new one endanger the other? If yes, there is no argument. Is the new life a result of a lack of choice on the part of the mother (rape/incest)? If yes, there is no argument. In all other cases, there is an argument. Should female feticide be allowed in the name of choice? Dems certainly think so: http://www.americanthinker.com/printpage/?url=http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2012/06/seems_the_democrats_are_so.html
yoda Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 "So-called" life is the issue. So what happened to the Constitution? Wasn't it all settled at Roe vs Wade? :winky:
cricket_usa Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 Yes, I heard of the girl in Dominica. My knowledge in embryology tells me a new genetic human begins at conception. Now the question goes into the Moral Relms. There are lot of laws that I don't agree with but the law is the law. Female feticide is worng in my view, but if the mother decide to do it, its between her and her Conscious or God if she believes in one. She is not breaking any law. So should Masturbation become illegal or eating meat become illegal cause we are killing a life?

Eating meat from our own species is illegal. Since when did we start considering cows and dogs human life?
Brainfade Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 So what happened to the Constitution? Wasn't it all settled at Roe vs Wade? :winky: Laws get overturned/amended all the time ;). It was passed as a constitutional right to privacy.
yoda Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Laws get overturned/amended all the time ;). It was passed as a constitutional right to privacy. And that is exactly what it is. A private business between a woman and her pregnancy with the Doctor as the consultant and her family providing support as they would in any medical situation.
punjabi_khota Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Lol I am loving it. I hope repubs get legitimately raped in the elections.
cricket_usa Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 Laws get overturned/amended all the time ;). It was passed as a constitutional right to privacy. Ok let's go by your logic. I want every US soldier including the President be prosecuted for Murder for killing thousand's of innocent people in the name of collatral damage. Will the Repubs fight for those human life? If they value human life, then every human life should be valued.
