lol its not like Yadav will run thru a side on these pitches,the max he do is 1-2 wickets or tailenders.even Irfan can do that.I'm not sure 1-2 wickets per match is good for his confidence anyway. in this match both his wickets were with attacking shots.n its NZ.Aus,Eng are gonna hammer him too. instead he can go on A tours n learn how to take wickets in foreign conditions,get more confidence n be ready wen we tour abroad.while we beat opposition wit our spinners n long batting lineup.

Irfan as test batsman > Rohit' date=' Raina for most conditions.[b'] But as far as bowling goes , he has to prove at the domestic level. Let him focus on ODIs for the time being. Even if he returns he will at best be a support bowler not a main bowler. Besides that, it is not wise to play 3 seamers in Indian conditions. You would rather go with 3 spinners. Preferably a leggie.

last year, he took 21 wickets in 5 Ranji Elite matches at 19.04 with sr of 42.

yeah but is it worth for 1-2 wickets per test?slower balls of Pathan were better than phaast Yadav outswingers in Lanka recently.I know tests r different,but Pathan offers a lot more all round

yeah because it was WI.n its not like we wouldnt have won or taken 20 wickets without his wickets. our spinners can bowl with new ball as well.n if they dont get wickets Yadav wont too bcoz there r two kinds of wickets in India-flat n turners.not gonna help seamers.I dont see anyone except Zak getting more than 2-3 wickets a game against a decent side anyway,so wats the point?

Don't fix what ain't broke. In odis 7 batsmen formula works for us and in Tests the 4 bowlers and 6 batsmen is the way to go.
