His was an inspiring life story. A great quote of his is : "There is no room in the United States of America for second-class citizenship." Too bad his career was cut short by a debilitating stroke.

Why Bobby Jindal Wants to be White

Bobby Jindal has a unique problem. He wants to be white. But because a full skin transplant is not a possibility, Jindal, the governor of Louisiana, AmericaÃÔ poorest state, has gone to great lengths to attain honorary white status. This he has achieved by becoming even more conservative than the lily white Republican Party. However, as a brown convert to ultra right wing Republicanism, Jindal, the son of Indian-born parents, feels he has to constantly reaffirm his hard-won white status. This he does by mouthing off Bible Belt inanities, which no doubt reassures his southern voters and party bosses that they made the right choice in picking him.

HereÃÔ a quick quiz. If your mother is a nuclear physicist, your father is a civil engineer, and you have a biology degree from Brown University, what are the chances of you becoming a card carrying creationist? Answer: smaller than small. But if you are Bobby Jindal, then the equation changes.

Around half a dozen Indian Americans contested the last Congressional elections, but they all lost in the anti-Obama wave. This time also around around the same number are contesting:

Just found out about Tulsi Gabbard. She's a practicing Hindu(Vaishnav) but not of Indian origin. Her father is Samoan and mother is White but a practicing Hindu as well. She recently won the Democratic primary in Hawaii. She plans to visit Vrindavan soon.
